You know better than to call me 'Sir'...

There's no way my fossil of a laptop could handle the number of leagues required, if I had to start in a lower division in each country

This sounds pretty interesting. i don't have much time for playing it though, so it will probably be in some short format with just monthly updates. Too bad... that won't win me any more awards

I guess you won't mind if I add one more restriction? There may be no more than three players of other nationality than the country you are in in the squad. Might make it impossible, but hey... it's about having fun rather than winning, right?

Ok, i'll give it some thinking today to work out how to do it. Probably some kind of monthly newsletter/fanzine.

Should be interesting. Enjoy the vote today you nay-sayer

Interesting suggestion Jesper -only about a month late, but interesting nonetheless

Think I'll apply it once I've left Germany, from my second job onwards, as getting rid of all but three foreigners would probably cause my Frankfurt team to self-destruct at this stage.

I was wondering though, how would you deal with the fact of inheriting a squad full of foreigners? Perhaps there could be some sort of time limit, say til the end of the next transfer window, to get rid of all but three? So if you arrived at a club in November, you'd have til the end of January to bring your team to compliance. Just an idea.

Nice to see you back around here, by the way

It's a good question Dave.

I will try to be a bit picky when choosing new clubs to avoid it and then transferlist all but the three I need the most. Problem will be to get replacements at a low cost. My limited FM05 experience tells me that it is usually cheeper to buy foreigners. I'll also have to look out for players running out of contract.
Maybe i'll allow myself to have a fourth foreigner for a limited time if a gem shows up, but I'll have to do all I can to offload one of the surplus.

Two additional questions here.

I've started with West Ham.... if I should get a job offer for another English club, then I'm free to take it, right? Only requirement being it has to be in the same nation and I have to win the trophies within the specified number of seasons.

Second, when starting out in the game... is it then the same 3 seasons + 2 seasons quota?

Raptor are you actually doing this challenge? Just wondering. The only other challenge i've done previously was the 'Russian Revolution' and that seemed to have loads of people in it. Hopefully FM2006 brings a new challenge and some more participants.

No disrespect to those actually doing this challenge along with me. Pierroth, OMDave and Harleqin KUTGW!

I can only guess that everyone else is bored of FM2005 which is a sad state of affairs really. No excuse in my book.

I was doing the challenge, on 98/99, but sadly I got sacked three months into the first season. Haven't had the time to play CM since.

FM2005 is too slow to complete this challenge on, at least on my PC.
