Man Utd fan...: Portugal finished second in their qualifying group behind Belgium and lost 3-0 on aggregate to Serbia in the playoffs. Estonia only have six players with Enar Jääger and Tarmo Kink being the only non-regens.
WLKRAS: You started your career at PSV in 2006 before making the move to Colorado Rapids of the MLS after being released. You spent 18 months in America scoring 2 goals in only 14 appearances before moving to Spurs for £190,000 in January 2009. You spent your first four seasons at Spurs out of the first team, but a 17 goal campaign in 2012-13 has made you a fixture in the first team. You have 51 goals in 196 appearances for Spurs in total. Day 2: 12th June 2016 England v. Serbia & Montenegro
Esbjerg Atletikstadion, Esbjerg
The opening match of Group B had yielded a draw. England now had to feel that they were in the driver’s seat to win the group. Serbia had to feel more confident knowing that the smaller sides could compete with the massive nations. Teams:
England (4-4-2): Chris Kirkland, Glen Johnson, Mitchell Murphy, Steven Taylor, Martin Cranie, Matt Jarvis, Chris Cohen, Ben Watson, Glenn Knight (c), Wayne Rooney, Danny Green Substitutes: Alex Thomas, Andy Richardson, Jermain Defoe, Jacques Maghoma, Stephen Parker, Paul Bailey, Luke Moore Serbia & Montenegro (4-4-2): Vlada Avramov, Sasa Savic, Milos Mitrovic, Milenko Zivkovic (c), Slavko Radanovic, Dusan Milovanovic, Ranko Filipovic, Zlatko Nikolic, Milos Milenkovic, Milorad Stankovic, Goran Novakovic Substitutes: Nemanja Vasiljevic, Vladan Marinkovic, Dragan Tomic, Bojan Jelisavac, Danko Lazovic, Milos Ninkovic, Dejan Pavlovic
England came out firing on all cylinders, and Serbia knew this match was going to be a tough one. Glen Johnson’s free kick from the halfway line found an unmarked Wayne Rooney in the penalty area, but his shot was pushed wide by Vlada Avramov.
In the 24th minute, England’s persistence paid dividends. Ben Watson slipped a ball through to Rooney who slotted it past Avramov for the first goal of the tournament.
With two minutes remaining in the first half, Danny Green nearly doubled England’s advantage. His shot from the corner was cleared off the line by Milos Mitrovic. After the clearance, Mitchell Murphy sent a lofted ball in that was met by the head of Green, but Avramov pushed the shot around the post.
The match died down after the break, but England were still the only side getting clear chances on goal. In the 70th minute, substitute Luke Moore’s ambitious effort from 40 yards hit the crossbar and was cleared by the Serbian defence.
With eight minutes to play, England doubled their lead. Matt Jarvis played a ball to Moore at the top of the box, and the Villa striker promptly curled it in. England 2 ( Rooney 24; Moore 82) Serbia & Montenegro 0
Attendance: 14966 Yellow Cards:
England: None Serbia & Montenegro: Ranko Filipovic, Goran Novakovic Group B Table:

Randers Stadion, Randers
After the Group B fixtures, it was now time for Group D to take center stage. Holland and Switzerland would be playing in the second of three matches on the day, and the Dutch would be looking to cement their dominance over the rest of the group early. Teams:
Holland (4-4-2): Maarten Sneep, Mark van den Boogaart, Kera Diomar Fränkel, Edwin Snoek, Martijn Prijs, Daniël de Ridder, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder (c), Georginio, René Johan Ijzerman, Ruud Hammecher Substitutes: Maarten Stekelenburg, Collins John, Robin van Persie, Erik Rozeboom, Gianni Zuiverloon, Chris De Bruijn, Ryan Babel Switzerland (4-4-2): Diego Benaglio, Marco Padalino, Reto Ziegler, Philippe Senderos (c), Daniel Panizzolo, Stéphane Baumann, Fabrizio Zambrella, Adrian Studer, Gerardo Clemente, Davide Chiumiento, Johan Vonlanthen Substitutes: Severin Baumberger, Thomas Raimondi, Martin Meyer, Philipp Degen, Christian Keller, Sébastien Baumann, Yannick Bravo
Switzerland had a horrific start to the match, as Diego Benaglio made what should surely be the howler of the tournament. He failed to see that René Johan Ijzerman was closing from his left, and the Manchester United striker simply took the ball off of his feet and rolled it into the open net to open the scoring after 95 seconds of play.
Nine minutes later, Ijzerman doubled his personal tally. He latched onto Wesley Sneijder’s free kick, and his weak header dribbled in past Benaglio.
Holland nearly had a comedy moment of their own on the half hour. Edwin Snoek had the ball taken off of him, but Johan Vonlanthen’s shot was brilliantly parried by Maarten Sneep.
Holland had their third chance of the match in the 74th minute, again created by a Benaglio error. The goalkeepers short kick was headed by Ijzerman onto the running Chris De Bruijn, who made no mistake on the finish. However, the goal was disallowed as the Spurs striker was ruled offside. Holland 2 (Ijzerman 2, 11) Switzerland 0
Attendance: 17960 Yellow Cards:
Holland: None Switzerland: Stéphane Baumann, Davide Chuimiento, Sébastien Baumann
