You know the old days (1970s-80s) where people dreamed of the year 2010 we will have flying cars or personal jet packs.

Well what do we dream about these days? Seems like it always about the end of the freaking world. We are one pessimistic generation aren't we?

Well there were pessimists back then and there are pessimists now. Same thing with optimists. Many people these days look to a future where stem cell research leads to miraculous beneficial discoveries and Cancer and Aids will finally be beat.

So yeah, I wouldn't generalise an entire generation of people like that.

I hope to be in outer space before i die!

I've been thinking a lot about what the future will hold. One thing I predict is space-age military technology. The military sends me a newsletter by email, and even recently it looks like they have really remarkable inventions. For instance, they're supposedly designing this suit of body armor with nano-chips imbedded everywhere in its fabric. If the suit detects a projectile, like a bullet, than the area of impact will contract into a super hard surface and deflect the object. Also, it could augment strength to a certain point. But it's supposed to be done by 2015 or something, and I doubt they could develop it even that soon.

Or how about prosthetic limbs that can be controlled by the brain? Think Luke Skywalker I really think that may happen eventually.
