(Note: Most of you won't have any major news for the first couple of season in this. You are all only 16 years old, and most of you haven't started to develop yet. You all will though!)

*LATEST* It was Spanish Cup night in Spain (amazingly) and that meant action for a lot of the OTF players. It also meant that some OTF players were watching from the stands. Three of these players were Real Madrid trio Taz Devil, Brendan Concan and Jakup Osskissun. All three sat in the stands as Real Madrid scraped past Tenerife 3-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the normal and extra-time.
Another who wasn't selected for his team was Angus MacGuyver, and he was also in the stands (albeit at a different game). His Numancia side travelled to Sporting and they went home with their tails between their legs after a 2-0 defeat.
In a similar fashion to the previous players mentioned, Getafe's Frank Appraisal was forced to view the action from the sidelines. His viewing will not have been as nerve-wracking however, as Getafe easily brushed aside Mar Menor by three goals to one.
In one of the more interesting ties of the night, Vecindario hosted Barcelona, a tie that was screened live on television in Spain. Benny Haesebrouck failed to get selected for Barcelona but Chris Porter made the Vecindario bench. Two goals from Larsson saw the visitors leading at half-time and they added a third almost immediately after the restart through Márquez. Shortly after this third goal Porter entered the game, but his contribution was limited and the game ended 3-0 to Barca.
Páraja Playas decided not to name Michael Orzelek in the squad for their home tie against Valencia. Due to this decision, Orzelek will have to wait another year for a chance at cup action as Valenica strolled to a comfortable 2-0 win. Jonathon Bevington was another who had to watch his side play from the stands as Real Betis travelled to Gimnástica. Inside the first ten minutes the visitors has both scored and been reduced to ten men, but even that did nothing to affect their dominance as they progressed to Round Three with a 2-0 win.
Ceuta had been drawn at home to Zaragoza but if a shock was to be dished out by the home side, they would do it without Tim Van Speybroeck, who had failed to make the squad. Cueta took a very early lead but by half-time Zaragoza had installed themselves as the leaders with two quick goals. No further goals in the second half saw Zaragoza go through 2-1 winners.
Niether Ben Schooling nor Luke Carlisle managed to secure a place in the Cuidad de Murcia squad as they faced Atletico Madrid at home. They would get the chance to appear in the third round though as a first half goal from Roberto Cuevas and a last minute effort from Luciano sealed a 2-0 win for the home side.
There was also cup action in England, as the Carling Cup Third Round was schedueled to take place. Chelsea succumbed to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge by a goal to but whilst that was happening Chris Nicol was turning out for the reserves at home to Aston Villa Reserves. The sides were goal-less at half-time and also full-time as well. Nicol was booked in the second half and also missed the best chance of the game shortly afterwards.
Darlington had been rewarded for their superb cup progress with a home ties against local rivals and Premiership side Middlesbrough. Rather than playing three upfront, Darlo opted for just two striker but Nick Morgan was one of them. Early goals from Mendieta and Németh effectively ended the game as a contest and Mendieta added a third before half-time. Southgate made it four and that was how it stayed. Morgan was subsituted with 25 minutes remaining. |
