Morton through to face Celts

Morton last night defeated Dumbarton to set up a dream tie in the 3rd round for manager Andrew McKissock. Life long Gers fan McKissock hopes Morton can give a good account of themselves and perhaps pull off the impossible. It was Dumbarton who took the lead through Eddie Annand on the half hour mark after good attacking play from dillen on the left side. Chris Templeman popped up at the back post to level for his side in the 45th min. Chances were passed up by both sides as the match grew more tense. Suddenly out of nothing in the 86th min a moment of magic from Chris Templeman sent them through to the next round to meet the Bhoys who lead the SPL.

Dumbarton 1-2 Morton - Strathclyde homes stadium Att - 1985

Goals - Templeman(2)

Then it was Steven Hislops turn to score, netting his 5th of the season with a neat shot from jus outside the box. Scott McLaughlin again returned from U-21 camp capless and appeared determined to prove his value and rounded off a superb performance by netting a screamer from 25 yards. Forfar did pull one back through Ryan Duncan but it was nothing but a consolation.

Greacen wanted by Premiership side

Stewart Graecen is being chased by Man City, Graecen has been superb at right back for Morton this season despite missing a month of action he has been by far their most consistent defender and with Man City interested it appears Morton will have a hard time keeping him at Cappielow.
