Tuesday 13th February 2007

Barnet 1 - 3 Oxford
Another excellent performance, we are now 6th in the league. The goals started on 33 minuites, when Roberts Sloans 20 yard effort went in. A great strike. On the stroke of half time, Craig Davies got yet another goal, with a good solo effort. We went in 2-0 up at half time. It was a tight second half, until the 71st minuite, when Barnet got a goal back, with a goal from Jason Norville. Barnet piled on the pressure, looking for the equiliser. They couldnt get it. We went on the counter attack, a Davies, again got the goal on 90 minuites. A great win, we are now in the play-offs.

I expected you to be resign or be sacked at QPR! Your season was going poorly.

Good luck with Oxford  I assume they're in league 2 and that they weren't promoted 1st season.

This was a good read Marris. You were asking for advice, and here's what I find enjoyable.

More financials - Are you making money or losing it? Are the board whingeing about wages? Are they tightwads? Basically, where is all the money going in your club? Who's overpaid and underpaid etc?

Relationships within the club - What are the board expecting from you and are you fulfilling it? Are you ever in danger of getting fired? Are you being praised by everyone? Are you getting on with all the players?

Your motivation for doing things - eg "I reckon so-and so has shot it, so I sell him" or "I'm getting really cheesed off with so-and-so"

Just for me personally, I like a lot of the background stuff that goes on between matches. But that's just me anyway. Keep writing anyway, now that I am writing stories myself I know how much effort it takes, and I really appreciate reading a good story now.

Saturday 17th February 2007

Oxford 2 - 1 Darlington
this is probably the best start to being a manager i have ever had. we started badly, Darlington scored on 5 minuites with a goal from Martin Nash, the goal enforced upon by an error from our goalie.
We equilised 4 minuites later, when Lee Bradbury was brought down in the area, he scored the resulting penalty. We went in at half time 1-1. We came out for the second half, looking to get the lead. We got the goal that we deserved. Lee bradbury headed in the empty net to put us infront. We held out for the win. The clubs 6th straight win, 4th under me. We were now 4th In League 2. This league is so tight at the moment.

Saturday 24th February 2007

Oxford 2 - 2 Shrewsbury
We got off to a great start after 2 minuites. Steve Basham scored a fantastic header from a Wade Small cross. We went in 1-0 up at half time. After half time, we got a second goal from lee bradbury on 48 minuites, with a great solo effort. We hald out for 20 minuites until Shrewsbury got a penalty. Paul watson converted it on 72 minuites. 3 minuites later, Shrewsbury equilised, with a goal from Ricky Newman. I was dissapointed with the result, we drop one palce to 5th in League 2.
