They probably mean your RAM.

Are you sure its not the virtual memory?
Is there other stuff that you are running in the background?

You are confusing HD space with RAM.

Right how do I amend this then? What do I need to do to free up some RAM, I've only recently nuked my laptop so there should be loads of space.

Its ur amount of RAM, not the amount of free space on your HD......

Try switching off every background running program, might help... otherwise, get more RAM.

Check your RAM for the start.

Next, end all those programs that start up automatically when you turn on your computer.

Finally, you try assigning more virtual memory at the CP.

If you click Start then right-click "My Computer" and do Properties it should tell you how much RAM is available total.

Sorry for the double post.

I should have worded that better. I mean it'll show you the amount of total RAM your computer has.

You could also try pressing

Ctrl
Alt
Del

at the same time which will show you what's running and how much RAM it's taking up. You may want to close your Internet browsers as some of them can turn into memory pigs if you have a large number of tabs/windows open (I went to use my wife's computer once and firefox was eating something like 300 Megs of RAM... mind you she had 200+ tabs open).
