Currently have FM installed on my only working drive. Next week, will be building a new machine. So, wil have a brand new hard drive - with the intention of formatting the old one.
Transfering the folders across obviously wont work, will it? Is there any way of shifting it across to the new drive?
Yes, sorry. Should have said. I'm 3 seasons into my game, and would hate to start over. So if I reinstall on the new drive, could I copy across my current database/save games? If so - what else has to be replaced on a new installation for the save games to work?
The transfer wont be a problem. The new hard drive will have a fresh install of XP on it and the current drive will just be one of the backup drives - allowing me to transfer files across (till I format it).
So, you guys saying I can just install FM and patch it up - and then use the save game?
I knew I was being daft and the answer was a simple one.
This is dead easy: I do it all the time to transfer saves between my desktop and laptop.
In "My Documents" find the "Sports Interactive" folder. IN there will be a folder called FM2008. You can copy that across and your save game and tactics will be transferred as well.

Ignore every post in the thread, except this one. It is simple, and correct.
