I'm in conference south, earning 26k for friendlies against Barcelona B/Real Madrid C. I play a lot of these games to generate cash, however i don't like cheating, what do people think?
but talking of cheating....... I have just started a new game with my team Coventry after a disastrous first game with them. But i cant help feeling this isnt right. I'm using, in a way, the power of hindsight...... Someone reassure me this is ok, and promotion will be just as much as an achievemnet as it would have been in my first game?

It is a sort of a cheat if you are playing as an LLM since you get a whole lot of cash which should not be available.
if you installed the patch your game should now generate reserve matchs for england so you don't have to play other teams.
Ofcourse no one can stop you from using this loophole (it's your game), but just try & find how many lower league teams are playing their reserves vs. top european club's reserves...

I'm more inclined to say no. This is beasue the game lets you do it, it's unrealistic but not really a cheat. My logic is kind of flawed though because in the last game the game let you buy players for nothing, yet I think that was definately cheating.
More to the point, who cares? Play the game how you want. Don't let other dictate to you how to play.
I did that for couple seasons. Started from conference. Then when I got promoted to premierleague, I stated over not doing this. I simply didn't feel I deserved to get promoted because all that ridiculous money I got from arranging friendlies with barca B through seasons played big role on it, and SI has acknowledged it's not supposed to be like this and they're looking into it.
Of course play as you like. I myself just felt it kinda would've been same as I've added couple millions with editor to my team, because about that much those unrealistic friendlies made for my team every season and allowed me pay wages for better team. And I'd never do it again to keep the challenge as it should be. my two cents.

how could you buy players for free in 07? unless of course the other team didnt want anything for the player, whihc is both not cheating and realistic(sometimes just to save the money from the wage bill teams will allow a player to leave for free)
