The only problem with playing a slow tempo game in the Premier League is that most of the opposing teams will be playing a pressing game and the extra time on the ball will result in your players being pressured.

I still think that playing a higher tempo will generally get your team more shots on goal then a slower tempo would. I still think those shots will have less chance of scoring. Maybe there are ways around this, i.e. the creative freedom of the striker. This should be looked into further, which I will try to do tonight.
The thing about a quicker tempo is that, generally, it is better to watch on the 2d screen. It creates more chances and gives a sense of urgency. But this increased amount of chances doesnt always mean success. This brings me to the problem or 'bug' everyone is complaining about. The 'I got 20 chances and didnt score but the other team got 3 chances and scored 2' thing. To me, this looks like a tempo issue, which is one of the reasons i created this thread.
As was said earlier people might call a slow tempo game that only creates say 5 chances per game boring, but in many ways, this might be better then playing your quick tempo and getting 20 shots but having less chance of scoring no?

Tempo doesn't affect the quality of your chances. Your tactics and player selection do.
| It does. Quick tempo means the chance will be more hurried |

Hi Cleon,
The word 'hurried' always sounds bad to me, it implies that a quick tempo has is 'bad' because it is wasteful.
My original point was that with a provided your tactics and team selection are complimentary then you will create more chances than if they were not.

I use 3 tactics same tempo : my home attack, my counter-attack and my defend tactic( last notch of slow).
the last tactic i use which is default tempo ( normal) is a balanced one which i use as slight favourites at home or against a weak\mediocare opposition on away.
I never tried playing quick even as I'm Man City and got quality players. I don't see a reason to do so nor got the knowledge to implement quick tempo tactics.

Hi Cleon,

| And it is no matter how good the players are, they will still be wasteful with chances at times. Tempo is exactly that how fast you play i.e how fast the passes wil be played.
Then it is down to a players stats to determine how well he takes the chances nd how well he copes plying t a slow/fast speed.
I'm just plying FM at the minute and my side are prety good. Now if I increase my tempo to quick I create more chances but don't get the results I should be getting due to certain players no being ble to cope.
Tempo shuld be an individul setting imo. Quote: |

| Exactly, plus its down to mentality too.

If tempo was an individual setting it would rock. I like the general midfield play to be at pace quick passing pinging the ball around but i want my strikers to take their time lol
Anyway what relation is there to mentality?

| Well if you play a slow tempo game then the last thing you want to do is be attacking.
