Only thing you can try is to offer him a key role. This seems to work when you're trying to buy a foreign player to come to you sometimes. So it might work in your case as well. Give it a shot.
Or if you want, just modify it in FMM. Give him all the salary he wants and appearance fee and just modify his contract end date to whatever you want again. Some people might call it cheating, while others would say its fair as a player already at a club will not get refused a WP for renewing his contract. I've never heard of it happen but maybe I'm wrong. I'll leave the morality of it all to you!
