League Night 28th October 07

After last weeks performance we needed to get some points on the board or else we would be expected to go down!

(H) Fulham 2-1
Scorers: (MC) Prso 2 (FUL) Kamburov
MOM: Prso
A strong performance helped the team out of the relegation zone and 3 points ahead of Watford
Rating: 4.2/5

(H) Tottenham 1-0
Scorers: (MC) Prso
MOM: Prso
Absolutly amazing, a goal in the 90th minute gave us 3 points and we are over the moon
Rating: 4.5/5

(A) Liverpool 0-2
Scorers: (LVP) Bianchi 2
MOM: Bale
We must have the worst finish in the league, Mpenza couldnt hit a house from the doorstep haha but we matched them in the 2nd half just a let down in the first half
Rating: 2.1/5

(A) Bolton 2-4
Scorers: (BOL) Anelka Nolan Speed Davies (MC) Mpenza Corradi
MOM: Jenas
What an absolute load of bullsh!t, Mike Dean is the worst ref I have ever seen, 2 offside goals given and 1 penalty disallowed and we missed a penalty, how lucky can you get? we should have won here but unfortunatly we didnt, Our finishing needs sorting out, alot of missed chances again!
Rating: 0.2/5

Final Words
Very very good compared to last week, next few games are really easy and we need to keep our Home form up because we have the worst away from in the league, but all good as we have Reading at home so we should get another 3 points eh Tony haha lol

Night Rating: 3.8/5

Manager Comments
Pretty average night again, suffered a heavy loss to Fulham and had a cup scare against West Brom. Bolton also gave Reading a scare when they started to come back from 3-0 down. But comedy moment of the night came from Boston Utd’s first own goal when the Boston’s Jamie Clarke and their keeper decide to play a few passes to each other and Jamie returned the pass back to the keeper who missed and the ball went into his own goal. What also didn’t help me is when Coventry nicked my Assistant Manager and appointed him their manager.

Due to me having to go early I do not know the outcome of my other matches. But for what I was there was good. The rivalry between my Chelsea and Phillips' Arsenal for top spot is heating up

jimmy's Aston villa team report 28th October

Blackburn 0-1 Aston villa
john carew [42]
a very hard fought game as you can see by the result there was not much in it, other than a great goal from carew, this was my first game in charge of Aston villa and i was satisfied with the performance especially the clean sheet,so overall a good start.

Birmingham 0-1 Aston villa [fa cup 4th round]
juan Pablo angel [73]
Another clean sheet another win, tinkered with the team a little for this fa cup clash did not seem to make much difference same result as my previous match not that i am complaining, good goal from juan pablo.

west ham 3-1 Aston villa
gonzalo higuain [2] john carew [66]
yossi benayoun [81]
zlatan ljuijankic [87]
third consecutive away game something had to give and it did i got beat 3-1,to tell you truth the final score does not tell the whole truth the boys played well we dominated parts of the game, the only thing that let us down was our finishing, dont get me wrong west ham played well and most probably deserved the win.

Aston villa 4-6 Chelsea
Gareth Barry [21] Andiy Shevchenko [2,17,49]
Luke Moore [41] Frank Lampard [20]
Stiliyan Petrov [45] Petri pasanen [58]
John Carew [69] Didier Drogba [90]
what a game, yes 6-4 thats how it finished an absolute cracker of a game,we started terribly letting in 3 goals in the first 20 mins, then my players woke up and they started to fight back and what a fight back it was unbelievably we went into half time 3-3,the second half did not start as i hoped we let in a sloppy goal and then a own goal petri pasanen [58] which was a blow because we were looking good before the own goal,we pulled one back in the 69 th min but unfortunately let one in the 90th,never the less a great game of football.

Aston villa 3-2 charlton
John carew [36] darran ambrose [17]
osei sankofa own goal [58] danny murphy [38]
luke moore [pen 90]
a good game there was nothing to separate the two teams other than a pen given in the 94th min ,luke moore kept his cool and finished beutifully,a much needed win after two defeats in a row good result.

Aston villa 2-1 Fulham [fa cup 5th round]
olof mellberg [2] papa bouba diop [86]
Luke Moore [79]
This is a game i expected to win and the players did not disappoint,we seem to be playing good in the fa cup which is great because things are not looking too good in the prem maybe we can go all the way in this competition.

League Night 4th November 07

Last week we did the best we ever did in along time getting 6 points from 4 games and moving out of the relegation

(A) Sheffield Utd 0-3
Scorers: (SFU) Gillespie Jagielka(p) Hulse
MOM: Gillespie
Worst performance of the season in my opinion, we had few chances and gave them another 3 points on us!
Rating: 0.1/5

(H) Reading 2-3
Scorers: (MC) Prso 2 (REA) Ingimarsson Doyle Little
MOM: Little
So close yet so far! 2-2 at halftime we could have gone out in the 2nd half and killed them but nicky weaver thought he would **** about and give Little an open net and then the teams heads dropped and we couldnt do anything
Rating: (First Half 3.9/5) (Second Half 0.8/5)

Man City manager given ultimatum by the board

I might aswell resign now because noway am I going to win away but I will stay and take it like a man haha The last 11 days as Man City manager are as long as hell loads of cup games making me more and more nevous HAHA

(A) Blackburn 2-5
Scorers: (MC) Prso 2 (BLA) Nelson Savage(p) Savage Ried McCarthy
MOM: McCarthy
Out played away from home once again, not 1 win away from home but I expected it haha thought we had a come back at the end it went 4-2 and then we had a goal to make it 4-3 but the ref messed up and disallowed it once again this has happened to me...I think its 8 times now and the FA dont do sh!t about it
Rating: 3/5 was a great game just defence let us down!

Well my time at City is over...and to be honest it has been sh!t haha but I hope I draw them on 2008, much more money and a overall a better team!!!

Ill see you lot at the FM 2008 draw

I cant post league table because I am going off so it will be updated and I will post an old one so there is no point

4th november team report
wigan 2-1 aston villa
julius aghowa [23] luke moore [69]
antonio valencia [84]
a very poor display of football from aston villa jlloyyd samual missed a penalty, the team did not pass the ball around fluently and that ultimately led to our downfall.

aston villa 1-0 arsenal
helb [1]
a first min goal from helb decided it the villains played well and did not deserve to lose had spells of domination just could not convert possession into a goal in conclusion arsenal were very lucky to walk away with 3 points.

aston villa 1-0 bolton
john carew [82]
the run goes on,we seem to being better in the fa cup than the league,i have to say that i thought this one would end in a draw,it looked like one of those games, but to my delight john carew came up with a winner, we have tottenham in the next round lets see how far we can go.

everton 4-1 aston villa
johnson [6] carew [82]
Mcfadden [39
vaughan [57] [76]
what more do you want me to say i think the score line says it all, got a drubbin.

Pretty average night, 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss in the league has left me in 10th place in the table. Pretty pleased with how I managed to hold Chelsea to another draw at home but I got thrashed in the replay which was to be expected but hey I managed to get Reading to the Quarter Finals of the FA Cup and that’s quite an amazing feat for a side that’s supposed to be battling against relegation.

Was pleased with the session, knocking Madrid out of the champions league was great and progressing well within the FA cup although it will be a hard semi final against Chelsea. Adebayor and Henry continue to score the goals as we try to bridge a gap between ourselves and the rest. Overall a very pleasing session, hope to keep it up !
