End of September Update

After my unbeaten 5 games in August, September was a complete disaster.

I lost to Worcester, Boston, Vauxhall, Redditch and Hyde before drawing with AFC Telford. Things then got worse when I was dumped out of the FA Cup by Brentwood.

Kyle had a poor month, only scoring in the 2-1 loss to Brentwood. He was dropped for a couple of games after getting three 5 ratings in a row.

I'm currently 18th in the league, just 2 points ahead of the relegation spots.

My tactics just aren't working with Barrow, I'm getting battered every game. I've just gone 11 games without winning.

Looks like the game is recognising the fact that you can't just get Barrow playing like Man Utd, which is good really. With FM07 it seemed possible to play really good football with average players, this time it looks like I'm going to have to spend a bit of time working on my lower league tactics.

I know the feeling Dafuge, I've been trying to play a 4-1-2-2-1 with Super Kyle as the lone target man and the rest of the team quite defensive, and I'm shipping goals like its going out of fashion.

Also Witton Albion seems to be a better prospect than Barrow :-(. Just lost out on a Crewe reserve.

I called a team meeting and changed my style of play, the result was a 2-1 away win.

For some reason I feel much more in control of my tactics with this version. The players seem to respond to my changes in the way I would expect them to, rather than the random trial and error method I mostly used with FM07.
