Ok, im bored with playing my normal game and have decided to make a new challenge based on players names.
Im sure this has been done before but i cant find another one for FM08.
---------------------
THE IDEA
---------------------
To gather a team with a first team squad of 21 players with names that can all be linked together and try and win something. For two names to be linked either the first or last name must match. The whole teams names must be able to link to each other.
You must sign one player and try and link the players names all to that one central player.
There are a number of ways to link the players
Method 1 - The line Method
John Smith
John Jones
Daniel Jones
Daniel Holmes
James Holmes
James Davies
Simon Davies
Simon Edwards
Frank Edwards
Method 2 - The Tree Method

John Smith | --------------------------- | | John Jones Daniel Smith | | ---------------- -------------------- | | | | John Davies James Jones Daniel Johnson David Smith | | | | --------------- ------------- --------------- ------------------ | | | | | | | | John Edwards Frank Davies James Holmes Ed Jones Daniel Grant Fred Johnson David Jackson Billy Smith

Method 3 - The Mixed Method
This method would be a mix of the two methods above and probably the most likely to be used.
I very much doubt this challenge will get much attention and its ust for fun and can be done to kill time hen your fed up with your regular game cause your getting beaten all the time.
Please feel free to post your progress here as it would be intresting to see if anybody can manage a successfull team using this method of signing players.
Hahahaha! You wouldn't believe it, but I was thinking of something eerily similar to this. Like making a team with only guys called John, or only guys with accented 'e's in their name.
Thank you for making this challenge, because I wasn't game enough .
My idea (which I was never going to do) was to have a team full of Italian guys whose names were cognates with English words like Innocenti, Defendi, etc. Would you mind if I did that instead of the name tree thing for this challenge?
The Italian thing I mentioned earlier was way too hard, I could barely find anyone like that (although there is a Serie A keeper named Bizzarri).
But I don't really want to play a game where everyone has really common names either, so I had the idea of only getting players who were the only ones in the database with that first name. It might be a little too easy though, there are lots of good players like that.
