Shetland Islands vs Aberdeen Scottish League Cup 2nd Round - 22nd August 2006
Shetland crashed out of the league cup at the hands of SPL side Aberdeen.
The difference in quality was clear, and Aberdeen bossed the game. Shetland were holding out well, but the turning point was when sub
Chapman, who had replaced the injured
Pethybridge, gave away a penalty on 26 mins. Miller scored the resulting penalty.
The lead was doubled on 32 mins, when a terrible backpass by
O'Kelly was intercepted by Lovell, who made it 2-0.
HT Score: Shetland Islands 0-2 Aberdeen
Aberdeen made it 3-0 13 mins from time, when Dempsey's shot seemed to kindly slow dowm straight to Miller.
4 minutes later, the result got worse, when Dempsey smashed in from 20 yards.
With the game over, Shetland finally got some chances, with
de Shetlandinho had a good shot parried away, and
Al-Dahash fired wide.
Well it was a dissapointing result in the end, but we tried well, and did quite well at the end.
My MoM is probably Gol de Shetlandinho, he had our best chance of the game, so not much else o choose from.
