I actually questioned it myself a little further up.

The problem is that this is SMSL's challenge and if that's the rules that he wants to keep, who are we to pick it apart and adhere to some of the rules but not all of them. If he says that this rule is important part of the challenge and that it should remain, then maybe the answer is creating your own challenge thread with your own rules. I hope that doesn't sound snooty or rude, (it certainly isn't mean that way), but I know how I feel when people post in the dafuge and Gundo threads and decide to change the rules as they feel like it .

It was an excellent update in any case and I will be interested in checking on your progress.

I felt tempted by this challenge and holidayed through the first season but I saw that the promoted teams got no staff at all (except the chairman) and just a few players. I put the database on large so am I allowed to sign some staff? (At least ass man + physio)

Question: what is the reasoning behind being unable to use foreign academy players? Isn't that the whole point of scouting and building your youth system?

I understand not being allowed to sign anyone, but if someone from Guadeloupe shows up in my youth system while i'm in the Championship, because i scouted that nation with a scout i promoted from within, why can't i use him?

Uffff, I'm severely tempted to do so. The difference is that I would do with Merthyr and only play with welsh players. The problem is that seems a veeeeeeeery hard way to play, and merthyr is feeder to cardiff (if they loan me a player, what should I do?).


Has anybody did this challenge seriously? Do you have any success?

Im tempted to start this challange once the San Marino one is out of the way, although I also agree that any foreigners that have come through your youth system should be fair game.

im gonna start this as soon as the patch comes out but a quick question if players are already at the club do you have to get rid of them or can you keep them?
