Even though the game has had something unnatural happen to it. I still think some of the results are very strange and ultimately unrealistic.
Patrick Viera only wanting £13.5k a week to play for Lyon, plus Ribery a similar amount at Barca.
We can see that a lot of the players re-signed for there original clubs. This is probably due to two things:
1.The favourite club attribute.
2.The game possibly not being able to equate ability into a monetary value.
When Sol Campbell left Tottenham on a Bosman transfer he was in a position of strength and the market reflected this. His Loyalty to Tottenham was severely lacking when Arsenal stumped up somewhere in excess of 60k a week and a signing -on fee upward of 1mil. As such can we say the game is unrealistic? Do you believe that loyalty really means more than money in football?
However I am sure that had these players all been signed on Bosman free transfer as opposed to being on the free transfer list, the results would be very different. The free agent market in American Football very much puts the player in the strongest bargaining position as they are seen as the commodity
The premiership pick-ups are interesting. I would personally say Liverpool have done the best and it will be interesting to see how that pans out this season. Liverpool also paid the highest wages!
Barcelona have probably done the best overall some of the players they signed are just monsters!
Strangely Cashley went back to Chelsea. I was thinking he would want to pay less tax and move abroad.
I personally think Man U are the biggest losers. Fancy losing Rooney, Ferdinand and Tevez. Sorry almost forgot Gary Neville reunited with Phil at Everton.
What do you guys think?
Suggestions welcome?
