Russia is a big country. It reaches out from Finland to Japan.
In the Russian league there is Moscow domination, but now you have the opportunity to change not only the look of Russian football, but also what we define as Europe.
As a member of UEFA, Russian clubs can take part in UEFAs competitions. And that brings us to the essence of this challenge.
There is a club in the Russian premier division, FC Luch-Energia Vladivostok, who is situated in Vladivostok, far east in Russia. Their closest neighbors is North Korea, China and Japan.
So the challenge is to bring this club to European football. That will mean some heavy travels for the team and their opponents.
And it is a great opportunity to bring a far asian team in to european football.
Please post your progress and when you get to Europe it is interesting to see who have to travel the furthest distance for a match.
I've seen the AI complete this challenge before on fm07 so it shouldn't be too tricky.
Best to measure distances on google earth to be honest, I think the theoretical maximum is if you are playing against Tenerife 11,425km away but you would have to be lucky to draw them. It may be possible to get further if there are any lower league teams on the other Canary islands further west (Las Palmas isn't as far) but I don't know if there are.
Maybe if you make a sort of double club challenge to it where you can take charge of 1 first and make into such a superpower that they're going to be in Europe for a long time and then take the other one and hope to draw them.
