Time for a change in the international squad. What if there was no opportunity for players to develop a bad form in international games? What if there was a limit?
The 3 Cap Challenge is as simple as it sounds (unless you don't understand the title, in which case it's easier). Basically, you take control of a nation of your choice, and, from there, you are not allowed to give any player in your nation more than three caps. That means that, whichever nation you take over, chances are that none of the current first team can play. And, from there, you see what happens, and how far you can go before you get fired.
Rules and additional notes:
- Under 21 caps do not count towards the three cap limit - it's senior caps only.
- The rules still apply for World Cups and European Championships, so you'll probably need to take an entirely uncapped squad
- Manager experience/nationality is basically irrelevant - as long as you don't get more than three caps per person.
- A cap is a cap, whether a player plays for the full 90, or just 1 minute.
- Good luck!
I dont think its possible to win a world cup this way, if you get to the final you will have played 7 games meaning you need 33 players to do this and hope you dont get an injury.
Bother - apologies, I copied an earlier draft of the challenge by mistake . The rules should read:
- The rules still apply for European Championships, but, for World Cup matches, any players can play in the final.
- (Addition to the rule) If injuries occur in the World Cup, then players with 3 caps can play, as long as there are no other valid candidates.
In my FM07 game with England, I already given first caps to:
Chris Kirkland
Ben Foster
Fitz Hall
Micah Richards (scored on debut)
Curtis Davies
Joleon Lescott
Nicky Shorey
Jlloyd Samuel
Adam Johnson (Boro winger)
Nigel Reo-Coker
Joey Barton
Kevin Nolan
Shola Ameobi
Carlton Cole
Gabby Agbonlahor (3 goals in 3 matches)
Dean Ashton
Bobby Zamora
