Season 2007/2008 1st September 2007
All wages are based on a weekly basis. Bank balance figures stated are rounded to the nearest million as they can be seen via screenshots.
Quick Summary: In general teams are currently performing well. Most are recording positive balances, profits and have money to spare on wage budgets. Only Bolton, Derby and Fulham have exceeded their wage budget and Fulham are the only side to have a negative bank balance.
Arsenal A very healthy bank balance of £72m. They have plenty of money to spare on the wage budget currently spending £707,605 budgeting for £829,901. Predicted to finish 4th.
Aston Villa Also have a hefty bank balance of £47m. Wages are well under control spending £428,394 budgeting for £496,690. Predicted to finish 9th.
Birmingham Have a positive bank balance but small compared to others of £4m. Wages are small but only just under budget spending £298,309 budgeting for £302,446. Predicted to finish 17th.
Blackburn Similar to Birmingham having a small bank balance of £2m. Wages are nicely under control by spending £410,936 budgeting for £458,333. Predicted to finish 11th.
Bolton A good bank balance of £6m. Wages however could be a problem with them currently spending £428,253 but budgeting for £417,732. Predicted to finish 7th.
Chelsea A massive bank balance of £92m. Wages are under budget spending £1,488,061 budgeting for £1,699,358. Predicted to finish 2nd.
Derby A tiny positive bank balance of £1m. Wages are over budget currently spending £229,538 budgeting for £218,119. Predicted to finish 19th.
Everton A nice bank balance of £15m. Wages are under budget spending £580,709 budgeting for £606,760. Predicted to finish 6th.
Fulham Fulham are already struggling by been in a negative bank balance –£1m. This is not helped with wages been slightly over budget by spending £410,130 and budgeting for £409,895. They have added over £30,000 to the wage bill and have spent £2m on transfers without any effort to keep the balance in the black. Seems strange to me when they are predicted to finish 18th.
Liverpool A sound bank balance of £28m. Wages are under budget by spending £1,142,323 and budgeting for £1,287,551. Predicted to finish 3rd.
Man City A strong bank balance of £38m. Wages are under budget spending £547,697 budgeting for £622,057. Predicted to finish 14th.
Man Utd Have a rather weak bank balance of £12m (compared to their rivals). Wages are under budget spending £1,085,055 budgeting for £1,202,817. Predicted to finish 1st.
Middlesbrough Have a decent bank balance of £7m. Wages are under budget spending £490,949 budgeting for £538,303. Predicted to finish 12th.
Newcastle Have a high bank balance of £40m. Wages are under budget spending £840,401 budgeting for £915,775. Predicted to finish 10th.
Portsmouth Have a massive bank balance of £50m. What’s strange about this is they could easily pay off their loans but have so far chosen not to. Wages are under budget by spending £550,331 budgeting for £612,795. Predicted to finish 8th.
Reading Have a good bank balance of £11m. Wages are under budget by spending £341,656 budgeting for £400,114. Predicted to finish 13th.
Sunderland Have a strong balance of £9m. Wages are just under control spending £222,071 budgeted for £223,370. Predicted to finish 16th.
Tottenham Have a decent balance of £5m. Wages are under budget spending £621,974 budgeting for £709,842. Predicted to finish 5th.
West Ham Have a good bank balance of £11m. Wages are under budget spending £721,802 budgeting for £842,962. Predicted to finish 15th.
Wigan Have a good bank balance of £12m. Wages are under budget spending £257,161 budgeting for £287,421. Predicted to finish 20th.
