Roadways - A few points to note for you. I dont know if you've ever attempted Dafuge's challenge, but i've been very sucsessful with it, so have a lot of LLM knowledge and experience in FM, and will point out to you some of the fundamentals in the first few seasons.
1. Coaches - Its not hard to get 6/7* coaches for every Training Area, even with a BSN/BSS club, who are permitted [1 Coach], but the board will allow 6, sometimes 7 coached. The bottom of the
first post here denotes exactly what you need to get the best from coaches, so you need not look for master staff.!
2. Scouts - Vital. Vital. Vital that you employ 2 to 5 scouts. Naturally, the main attributes are the Judge Ply Ability and Judge Ply Potential. But, working with youngsters, Motivation and Determination, in my experience are also important.
3. Ass Man - With the ass man, I find that his actual management skills are not needed. The Ass Man also coaches the team, so make sure you get good coaching stats, since, in the beggining, YOU are the better judge.
4. Tactics - I used to be a 'gung ho' kinda guy. And to some extent, i still am. But with Dafuges challenge, and indeed this challenge, If taken my time over
2 season to develop a tactic that best suits my players. A defensive tactic it set out to be, but i have more shots from it than any tactic i've ever made. When i upload the tactic for people to use, i'll link you to it to show you why it has worked for me. You bby no means need to go by it, or even use it, its just an avenue into my mindset.
5. Players - Undoubtedly the most important aspect. In the lower divisions, its not about finding that future gem, or the next world cup hero. Its about the here and now. So signing twenty or more 30 somethings need not be laughed at, as a good season from them could really make the difference. Its also important to know how you want to play, so you can buy/sign players specific to your needs. We all know finding players is hard for LLM, but it need not be. If you want a great striker in the division, look no further than
Finishing, Composure, Positioning, Work Rate, Pace and Acceleration. Its just a mere 6 stats that will make a great player for you in the lower leagues. My 'Star Striker' this season has scored 14 from 23 games, and my back up has scored 13 from 21 games, and niether look like players that would score a goal playing against an U-16's Seychelles Worst Eleven.! But they have a few key elements that make them some what prolific.
Along those lines, If you dont know the specific stats to look for with players, There is a thread about somewhere denoting them. I will find it for you, as the thread inparticuler discloses a lot of much needed knowledge.
As for a Feeder club, i have a sneaky feeling it could be due to where the club s based. My club, Real London, is based in the heart of London, and on the first time of asking for a Parent club, I was offered QPR, West Ham or Chelsea. It doesnt take a genius to work out who i chose, and they have loaned me some very good players indeed. I fear that, if you are based in an area where there are not any well known 1st Div. or higher clubs, you will not get a parent club.
Hopefully this helps you. If not, ask any questions and ill be glad to help.
My second season update is on its way soon.!
