In the aftermath of Englands failure in the Euro 2008 Qualifiers, the FA are in a desperate attempt to save the nations football. The lack of English talent coming through the youth academies of the Premiership clubs has become evident and the future of the English national side looks worse than ever.

In a desperate attempt to save one of the worlds biggest footballing nations, the FA have decided to take matters into their own hands. They hope to breed a group of youth players and turn them into the future of English football.

They have offered 24 English 18 year olds a chance to save their careers. Each player was playing at a Premiership youth academy last season but were not offered a new contract. They felt their careers were over, but the FA has gave them a lifeline; a chance to play for the English FA Select, known as ....

The team was set up by the FA and they have successfully enrolled the team in the Icelandic First Division, in place of league strugglers Reynir. The team will play from December 2007, under a watchful eye of the FA as well as the English population because of the clubs very own Sky TV channel that follows the team, EFA TV.

Controversially, the FA has appointed Brian Barwick (me) the position of manager. It has been speculated this is just an attempt to get rid of him from his current role in the FA.

The FA hope by making this team, they can breed a group of experienced English youngsters who will eventually appear for the England national side, maybe by the 2010 World Cup.
