Birth of a New Nation
Season 2007/2008 Transfer Market
Not much activity in June as the teams only had a few days to get deals done but Argyres signed a promising young centre half from Derby County for £1.1 million, Miles Addison becoming the record Ellisian signing on the last day of the month, beating the £825k that FC Jasque paid for David Bell from Luton.
£10 million was spent in July by Ellisian clubs, Lantisia, the reigning champions, spent £6m of that on six players, the biggest two signings being Chris Hogg and Lewis Stevenson from Hibernian at £1.9m and £1.3m respectively. There was only really one major signing in August, that being Mark little from Wolves to FC Jasque for £1.8m.
European Competitions
In the First Qualifying Round of the Champions League Lantisia faced Olimpi Rustavi of Georgia, defeating them 5-1 on aggregate including a 4-1 thumping at Witterbach stadium. In the second qualifying round, they drew Levski Sofia from Bulgaria. They won away from home 1-0 only to lose 1-0 at home themselves, the game went to penalties and it was Lantisia who triumphed to advance to the third round. Unfortunately for Lantisia they had to get past Toulouse FC if they wanted to get into the group stages, they lost narrowly both times, 2-1 at home and 3-2 away. After advancing to the third qualifying stage they earned entry into the first round of the UEFA Cup where they got hammered 5-0 away to Villarreal before losing narrowly 1-0 at home.
Stravchine Balanvinski were drawn to face FC Artmedia Bratislava in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup, they lost away from home by 4 goals to 1 before winning 2-1 at home, it wasn’t enough and they got dumped out 5-3 on aggregate.
The Argyres Myrmidons faced KI from the Faroe Islands in the first round of the Intertoto Cup and beat them 3-1 home and away to advance to face AaB of Denmark. Argyres beat the Danes 3-1 at home and clawed a goal back in the final minutes of the second game to make it 2-3 and advance to the next round 5-4 on aggregate. The next match was against OFI Crete, a battling draw at home in the first leg was followed by disappointing 2-0 defeat away from home and Argyres were out of the Intertoto Cup.
Isoeph Cup
The group stages were played at the beginning of the season and the following teams advanced from the groups:

The final was played between Faradafry and FC Jasque and a game dominated by FC Jasque eventually saw them triumph with two late goals from David Bell to secure the first silverware of the season for FC Jasque.
Emperors Cup
Picking it up from the quarter finals, United Commonwealth Club beat Faradafry City 2-0, Port Nelson lost at home to Whitefield United 1-0. Second Division side AFC Posul, having a great season, lost to Newtonia 2-1 at home while San Angel scraped past Lantisia on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
In the semi finals Newtonia beat San Angel 2-1 and Whitefield beat U.C.C. on penalties. The final saw Whitefield United defeat Newtonia by 3 goals to 1 thanks to two goals from Victor and a goal from Mattia Mixtel.
The Ellisian National team
The effect of the new division and players has not been felt yet as Ellisia registered only two wins in the 7 games they played, and they were against Hong Kong and Liechtenstein. They lost to Sweden and Denmark 2-0 and 4-0 to Spain to finish 4th in their qualifying group behind Spain, Sweden, and Denmark.
