Four days later it was time again and Campbell hoped the players had learned their lesson…

Yokohama F Marinos vs. Leeds United – Yokohama International
Japan Tour Friendly – Monday 26th July 2004

Squad: Gianluigi Buffon; Carles Puyol, Ian Harte, Frazer Richardson, Dominic Matteo; Jermaine Pennant, Riccardo Montolivo, Nathan Doyle, Jermaine Jenas; Alan Smith, Francesco Totti (c)

…and so they had. Right from the start Leeds were focused on the task ahead.

17-year-old 3,5 million quid signing Nathan Doyle made a fine performance in the first half and already after 8 minutes he scored his first goal ever in the Leeds United shirt. That goal was followed up by another goal in the 17th minute. This time it was Francesco Totti who scored and the Italian bagged another one in the first half.

Doyle were put in a vivid performance in the second half as well and was rewarded with another goal in the 75th minute. And on the stroke of full time Nathan Doyle was about to seal hi hat trick but the youngster only came so close to scoring after aiming for the right corner.

F Marinos 0:
Leeds 4: Doyle 8’, 75’, Totti 17’, 29’,

Attendance: 40,574
