Friday 16th

"Leeds United today put their goalkeeping worries aside after securing Chelsea's Yves Makabu Ma Kalambay (is that even a real name?) on a 2 month loan deal. The past week Leeds have lost 3 goalkeepers. Ian Bennett and Neil Sullivan were injured in the matches again Sheffield United and Cardiff, while reserve keeper Mark Wilberforce was injured in training 2 days later."

Saturday 17th

"This is a disaster Sam, how the F**k can we loose 3 goalkeepers in 1 week, and each of them out for atleast a month."

"I have to admit its a bit unlucky for us."

"Hows the team? is Healy match fit yet?"

"Yeah Healy is........"

"Then he's starting up front with Cresswell. Rob hasn't had the best of games the last 2 matches. And Blake i guess will have to stay in support."

The Match - Ipswich Town Vs Leeds United

Today we had the first shot, a ball from Blake found Healy who's shot curled just past the top corner of the post. 22 mins in Richard Naylor pushed over Healy to give us a penelty which Blake once again converted. However right from the kickoff Ipswich put together some good passing move to equalise and make it 1-1 thanks to Nicky Forster. 2 mins later and Eddie Lewis shot after a long run was just turned away by the keeper while Cresswell beat the offside trap only to hit it wide of the goal. Just before half time Forster put a 2nd one past out loanee keeper.

2nd half and 52 mins in Kellys ball cross went right into the face of Blake. The poor lad didn't know what hit him, or that he'd just scored his 2nd to pull us level. 10 mins from time and Peters found a ball through our defence and Westlake picked up the loose ball to score.

And to finish off a great match. last minute of normal time, Crainey had a inch perfect 40 yard pass to the head of Blake to make it 3-3 and his hattrick. This loanee keeper may not be very good, but he's all i've got.

Ipswich 1 - 1 Leeds

Wednesday 21st

Today we face a struggling Tramere Rovers. 20th in League One but with our keeper crisis i wouldn't be surprised if they cause an upset.

The Match - Leeds United Vs Tramere Rovers - Carling Cup Second Round

It took us 36 mins to get any action from the match, a Lewis wing cross found Healy but his shot just bounced off the post.

A very boring first half. 2nd half was just as bad, though 65 mins in we had a glimmer of hope but Hulse's goal was counted as offside. Though 3 mins later he scored and finnaly broke the deadlock. Suddenly it looked like the floodgates opened as 3 mins later Cresswell made it 2 and 4 mins from time Hulse scored his 2nd. So it took us 65 mins but we got a bit of a game in the end.

Leeds 3 - 0 Tramere

Friday 23rd September

"Hello Sam, yeah i'm at the FA HQ at the moment. Yeah the draws just comming out for the 3rd round...... Arsenals been drawn..... againsts leicester. thank god now we're one of the last 4 we could face sunderland, Chelsea or Coventry.......... Its Coventry, tell the lads we're away to Coventry next round. No next round i know we play them tomorrow

Saturday 24th September

We have a chance to get soem practise against out cup opponents today as we face them at The Ricoh Arena.

No changes to the squad but Sullivan should be back by the end of the month.

The Match - Coventry City Vs Leeds United

First half started well under our control as Blake and Creswell both had good chances saved. But Scowcroft scored first for Coventry just before half time, beating the defence and sliding past the keeper.

2nd half and once again the keeper was the only thing stopping Blake from equalising. Hulses addtion to the game made a difference as his header found Lewis wide who got a cross to Cresswell to make it 1-1. 77 mins and Duffy was sent off for Coventry for a profesional foul on Cresswell. Now was the tiem to push for the winner. Try as we might we couldn't find a winner and nearly conceeded in extra time for our troubles.

Coventry 1 - 1 Leeds

Tuesday 27th September

Our final match of the month is against bottom of the league Watford who are yet to win this year. Speaking of this year i'm having one of those years. Kalambay was called up to international duty leaving me with only 16 Year old Jonathan Lund to fill in the number 1 jersey. Looks like Watford will get their first win of the year.

The Match - Leeds United Vs Watford

Once again Blake starts us off good with a shot just saved by the keeper, but some bad defending give the Watford Blake the goal to put Watford 1-0 up. Thankfully a great Davenport freekick found Healy's head to make it 1-1 and 30 mins in Wrights shot just skimmed the line. But 33 mins in and Cresswell gave us the lead from a Healy Cross.

2nd half and it has to be said, we're only still winning thanks to some great saves from the 16 year old keeper. Though he made an amaturish mistake coming for the ball which left an open goal for Blake to make it 2-2. Hulse got injured so we're down to 10 for the last 10 minutes. And in the dieing minutes Blakes shot was just saved by the keeper, we were unlucky not to win this one but all things considered i'm happy with the result

Leeds 2 - 2 Watford

so this is the Table at the end of September

Saturday 1st October

Neil Sullivan was finally back for us but Rob Hulse is now out for a month, so Douglas goes into AMC and Blake up front with Cresswell.

The Match - Leeds United Vs Stoke City

We started off well with Blake running on to a Lewis ball and putting it past Steve Simonsen after 11mins. 34 mins and Lewis' scored a great goal and his first for the club from a free kick, and 5 mins later a Broomes handball gifted us with a penelty which Blake converted to go 3-0.

2nd half and Bischoff headed in a Derry corner and to make it 4-0 after 53 mins. In the end we were in full control and the premiership push got back on track

Leeds 4 - 0 Stoke

Once again the internation stage gave us a much needed break to get some plays back to full health. Our next match would be against Plymouth n the 15th.

In the mean time Jemaine Defoe scored the only goal in Englands match against Austria in the World Cup Qualifiers meaning they qualify top with 1 match to go.

And in he finaly match it took a Bosacki own goal for England to beat poland in the final match putting them 8 points clear of their rivals in the table.

Saturday 15th October

Gylfi Einarrson finally returns for us and goes right into the first team.

The Match - Plymouth Argyle Vs Leeds United

Good dangerous play from us from the kick off paid off when Mark Hudson pushed Cresswell in the box and the ref gave us a penelty which Blake converted. 3 mins later and Wrights pass to the box found Blake who scored his 2nd of the game. The match was over by the 15th minute when Barness was sent off for taking out Cresswell in the box and Blake got his hattrick within the first quater of the match. Plymouth had a small chance but thats it, i decided to tell the team to sit back in the 2nd half.

2nd half was quite but Plymouth did score one back in the 77th minute through Norris but an easy match in the end and one i'm happy with especially since it bring out unbeaten run to 13 games.

Plymouth 1 - 3 Leeds

Tuesday 18th October

Today we face Millwall, another club doing well in the promotion chase however we're without Lewis and Wright who both picked up knocks in the win against Plymouth

The Match - Leeds United Vs Millwall

Both teams started well with both sides having chances to score but a 30th minute Elbow to the face of Cresswell by Lawance gave us a penelty for Blake to score and put us 1-0 up. The rest of the half was pretty quiet though.

The 2nd half was quiet too till the 55th minute when Blakes header found Einarrson in the box to make it 2-0. So a quite game but a comfortable win for us non the less.

Leeds 2 - 0 Millwall

Saturday 15th October

Today is a big match, we face recently relegated and currently 5th Southampton.

The Match - Leeds United Vs Southampton

Bad start as 1 min in Oakleys free kick soared past Sullivan and into the back of the net. 10 mins in though we pulled it back, Cresswells pass finding an open goal for Einrrason. 14 mins and we were in the leed, a bad clearence from Armstrong after a corner found Crainey on the edge of the box who blasted the ball into the back of the net. 2 mins later Kosowski equalised after blastin a goal from 25 yards out into the net. 28 mins and some fine passing between Blake and Cresswell opened up the defence for Cressie to score his 2nd of the game.

2nd half sported no goals but the match could of gone either way, The closest chance was Ricardo Fullers bycycle kick that sullivan just tipped over the bar. 3 points for us and i'm happy with them.

Leeds 3 - 2 Southampton

Wednesday 26th October

Carling Cup time again against Coventry, Rob Hulse and Eddie Lewis are back thankfully.

The Match - Coventry City Vs Leeds United - Carling Cup 3rd Round

Took us 13 mins to get into the lead, Wrights ball found Blake who shot into the top right corner. Then 40 mins in Blake struck again loosing his man to stike into the top right again. Coventry hardly getting a sniff at goal.

2nd half and 66 mins in Coventry get one back, Adebole's shot deflected but found McCrink with an open goal to make it 2-1. Coventry smelt bloody and 10 mins from the end Goodman brought them level. 4 mins though and we replied Hulse beating the offside trap passed to Healy who made it 3-2. Coventry gave it their all in the end, even sending up the keeper during set pieces but we got our win and passage to the 4th round. The good news is on big team has fallen, Manchester United loosing 2-1 to AFC Bournemouth.

Covenrty 2 - 3 Leeds

Monday 5th December 2005

We've been drawn against premership outfit Wigan Athletic in the 3rd round of the FA Cup at the JJB

Wednesday 7th December 2005

Carling Cup 4th Round
Newcastle United Vs Leeds United

Kelly returns to right back just intime for the big match while Wright is on the bench for the cup tied Matt Etherington.

Newcastle make an impressive start when Clarks cross found the head of Owen after 5 mins to make it 1-0. 20 mins and Owen made it 2. Dyers cross found him in the box to header into the net. 41 mins and Owen had his hattrick, Luque passing to Owen who made a 20 yard run before putting it into the back of the net.

We scored one back in the 87th minute Derry with a spectacular 30 yard shot. but nothing more than a consolation goal in the end against one of the best strikers in England.

Newcastle 3 - 1 Leeds
Att: 38,234

Sunday 10th December 2005

Norwich City Vs Leeds United
Hulse starts for Blake and Etherington is back in the squad that takes on fellow promotion hopefuls Norwich today.

Norwich take an early lead from a Safri free kick on the box after 2 mins. Before some bad defending let Huckerbuy in to make it 2-0. Cresswell brings one back after 24 mins, running onto a Douglas pass to chip it over Green. Hughes made it 3-1 after 27 mins, connected with a punch from stranded keeper Sullivan. 61 mins and we got a pen which Robbie Blake converted to make it 3-2. We gave it a good try to come bakc but it stayed 3-2 in the end

Norwich 3 - 2 Leeds

Despite our loss Norwich were the only team in the top 6 to win so the damage wasn't too bad.

Leeds United Vs Brighton and Hove Albion

Bischoff is injured so Marques takes his place, I desided to call up Young Tomi Ameobi to the bench after his impressive season so far in the reserves.

We really came out firing today but it took 20 mins for the opening goal, Robbie Blake scoring his 20th of the season. That was the que to score, Derry's free kick finding Douglas' head to make it 2-0 on the 25th min before Cresswell made it 3 from another freekick on the 31st min. To make life a little easier, Brighton striker Keandre Griffit was sent off after 40 mins for 2 yellow cards.

1 min into the 2nd half and it was 4-0 Lewis brought down in the box and Blake scoring the resulting penalty. 60 mins and young Ameobi showed why he was getting such a good rating, making a great run into the box from a Kelly clearence before crossing to Blake to score his hattrick. 69 and Ameobi completed his grand day out with a goal of his own on his first team debute to make it 6-0. I almost felt sorry for Brighton as the clock ticked away and non so more than when Einarsson showed how easy it was to score, with acres of space in the box he took his time and blasted the ball into the net to make it 7-0

Leeds 7 - 0 Brighton

No change in the top 6 spots but we pulled away a bitmore from Cardiff and the rest of the pack who struggled again today.

No changes to the side that crushed Brighton

Not much to report, simply put we didn't take our chances and we paid for it.

Leeds 0 - 0 QPR

Palace now pull out a 3 point lead over us at the tope while Millwall jump Cardiff into 3rd.

Monday 26th December 2005

Hull City Vs Leeds United

Mikkel Bischoff returns to the first teain the only change to last week.

Douglas got a goal in 1st half injury time, getting onto Lewis' cross to put it away near post. He scored a second after 52 mins when Lewis' shot was saved, as he jumped on the rebound to put it away.

Hull 0 - 2 Leeds

Millwalls defeat drops them 2 places to 5th while Cardiff and Reading move above them.

Wedenesday 28th December 2005

Leeds United Vs Crewe Alexandra

The last game of 2005 and The only changes to the side are Healy stepping up for the rested Blake and Marques replacing the injured Crainey who may have played his last game for the club.

Crisis hit before half time as Sullivan injured himself leaving us without a goalkeeper, so Gregan took over for his 3rd match between the sticks this year.

85 mins and despite the odds against us we take the lead, Kelly with a pinpoint cross to Healy in the box who headed it away to make it 1-0. The defence did a great job at keeping Crewe away from goal and in the end thats what gave us the win.

Leeds 1 - 0 Crewe

Sullivan is expected to be out for 3 weeks now.

31st December 2005

Erik Bakke returns to the club from loan at Villa park.

Monday 2nd January 2006

Leeds United Vs Burnley

First game of the year and Erik Bakke goes to the subs bench while Ian Bennett takes the number 1 jersey.

Great start as Eddie Lewis' free kick flys into the beack of the net after 3 mins. Eddie then gets a yellow card meaning he will miss his return to Deepdale next week. 38 mins and Spicer does a Lewis and scores from the same spot as we did. Game of free kicks and Matt Etherington scored from a freekick after 64 mins to put us up 2-1.

Leeds 2 - 1 Burnley
