3 days later and we face another away trip Dinamo Makhachala 2 places above us in the league.A 1-1 draw was the end result however we were very lucky to leave with a point the press agreed.
An Amirov goal for Volgar cancelled out the 26th minute Makhachala goal to claim a 1-1 draw.
It was a slow start for both sides and it was not until the 23rd minute that the first shot on goal was made. Makhacla deservedly took the lead in the 26th minute and will be disappointed that they allowed Volgar back into the game.
Slobadan Zitface said "I was delighted with the way that we performed today, 4 points out of 6 for me is not bad when its your first job in management lets hope we can continue. They had a 5 man midfield in the first half so there were not many goalmouth incidents. We had to dig deep because their goal lifted their fans and the players."

Excellent work Leo. But surely an attempt at next year's Character of the Year title is in progress ? if it is or if it's not, good luck with the story, it makes a very good read so far.

The mobile rings now I have never had a mobile before and Duwana suggested that I should purchase one for work purposes.
"Hello Slobadan Zitface speaking"
"Hi Slobadan its Duwana how are you?"
"Fine thanks and your good self?"
"Yeah not to bad, been hearing some interesting things about you at the football ground today, do you want to meet up for lunch"
"I hope its good things you've been hearing"
"Argh, thats for me to know and you to find out"
"Can't imagine what you've heard"
"I'll pick you up from the ground at 3ish put your best suit on we're hitting the town"
Duwana is taking me out for lunch now she is one of the bosses so I need to look smart and then again I do want to impress her. She has money coming out of her ears or so she says so, I haven't got 2 coins to rub together. Hope the restaurant is not to posh that I feel out of place. I won't feel comfortable and I'll be all nervous. Even more nervous than watching the team on a Saturday afternoon.
I get ready and make my way to the ground. What is she going to talk to me about?

I hear a screech of tyres thats my date. Duwana looks so nice, a nice trouser suit, her best assets (her legs) firmly covered.
"Where you taking me?" I enquired
"For lunch, don't worry I've booked the table"
She drives like a mad man. No care in the world. It was hard to decide which side of the road she was driving on. We pull up to the restaurant and it only seems 5 minutes since I got into the car. The restaurant is really posh. I stare at the menu, looking at the different dishes with a puzzled look. "Whats in that one?" "Is this spicy?" Are just some of the questions that I asked.
"Are you ready to order? I know straight away what I'm having" I get the impression that shes been here before.
"Just order me something plain and simple please, I can't be bothered looking at all these fancy dishes"
"You mean plain and simple just like you..." she giggles. She has a mad sense of humour.
The waiter takes our order and she begins to talk.
"Heard alot about you around the club over the last couple of days, and I must comment how well you are doing. I know that it has only been a short period of time, but they are impressed with what they have seen so far"
"Good, I'm pleased to hear that, I've been working my socks off but there a good set of lads"
"I was surprised that you made such a good impression, I mean to be honest it was a risk giving you the job, but to be fair nobody else wanted it."
"Oh thanks, I have the job that nobody else wants"
"Look Slobadan I have tried to get you more money for transfers but as you are doing so well with the current team, the guys are a bit reluctant to part with their walletts. I tried, but I couldn't use my charm this time"
"Thats ok, the lads seem to be doing well together I think they all get on well"
"Yeah, you don't want to bring to many new faces in to rock the boat"
The meal was wonderful and I couldn't help thinking that her hand kept touching my knee under the table. Is she a touchy touchy woman or has she got the hots for me?

Our next opponents at Volgar-Gazprom were Sokol Saratov. They were currently in 4th place compared to our 10th. However the end result of 5-2 in our favour obviously showed that we could possibly push further up the table. Our form since I took over had been fantastic and obviously the more we win the more of a chance I had with Duwana.
2 goals each from Amirov and Uzdenov and a solitary goal from Botsiev was enough to steam roll through the higher placed opposition.
I cannot believe, bad news during the game is the injury to Usminskiy our regular goalkeeper it is unknown at present how long he will be out of the team for, but hopefully we have a suitable replacement available.
The Board are ecstactic at the victory and comment that the team is playing well above expectations and they are pleased with the start that I have made with the club.

We travel to face 7th placed Metallurg Lipetsk and our attackers are on form again. Amirov nets his 21st goal in 26 appearances whilst Uzdenov nets another 2 to make it 11 in 26 appearances.
I try to sign Uzdenov on a permanent basis but the Dinamo Moscow player is not interested at present.
The injury to Usminskiy was only minor and he was able to play the whole 90 minutes.
There was bad publicity just before the game with Vasily Ivanov stating that he was not satisfied with his role at the club despite being picked in the starting line up. I decide that I will challenge him after the game and publically. It is not fair on the other players that he has rocked the boat, especially as we are doing so well and we now lie 8th in the league.
No news from Duwana thought she would have called its been 2 weeks.

"Right lads, that was an excellent performance keep up the good work. Things are going extremely well and I think we have all adapted well to the way that I am managing the club, except one person."
I look direct at Ivanov "I don't expect to see headlines like this, its not good for the team, and its gives the supporters something else to moan about. If your not happy you should come and see me or the other staff first before shouting your mouth off at the press, as they look for anything to have a go at me about. I have been lucky so far that results have kept them off my back, but any bad run and they will be hovering around like flys do around a bad smell"
"I can't help it if your not playing left back, I think that you have adapted well to central defence, if you want to play left back then you will play it in the reserves, do you want that? I suggest you think before you speak next time, you are all easily replaceable, but I don't want anybody to leave, we are playing so well, and everybody is scared of us. Lets keep this going, morale is high, and I am so pleased to have joined you"

Still no news from Duwana and she hasn't been to any of the matches or phoned me, I can't work the women out, one minute she's all over me the next she doesn't want to know. I reckon she's hiding something.
Anyway my football career must take priority over my teenage crush and Ural travel to Volgar. Ural another team above us in the league in 5th are on a 4 game unbeaten run. 7,992 turn up to watch the game, our highest attendance ever.
Theres not much to comment on the game, only that we won again!!! A fluke goal by top scorer Amirov seperates the sides.
I was forced into a substitution late in the match when captain Cheburaev is injured we later find out that he has a fractured cheek bone following an innocent challenge. The injury could force the player between 3 or 4 weeks on the side lines. The recommendations are for him to return back to his original club to see their specialist. I decide to keep him, we are well off and hes a stong asset at the back why get rid of him when he can help us out here in a couple of weeks.
Bestaev is also on the receiving end of a 1 match ban after accumulating 4 yellow cards.
