Noisy-le-Sec (1) Valenciennes (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- C.Lannoy 84
Valenciennes- None
MOM- Micha Djorkaeff, Noisy-le-Sec

Our hard work finally paid off late in our match hosting Valenciennes as Micha Djorkaeff took the ball away not once, but twice on the leftwing during a sequence of play. The second time his soft chip pass was enough to find Christophe Lannoy lurking just beyond the corner of the six yard box and he snapped a shot inside the near left post past Romain Lambay for the match winner. We were still forced to hold our breath when our backline overplayed the ball in midfield and Frederic Fouret walked in alone on Dejan Nemec. Fortunately, he missed just wide to the right post and we were able to hold on for a close, yet deserved 1-0 win.

Nimes (1) Noisy-le-Sec (3)
Nimes- F.Arpinon 58
Noisy-le-Sec- A.N'Koulou 86 P.Noel 90 C.Lannoy 90
MOM- Christophe Lannoy, Noisy-le-Sec

I must admit that our fate looked very grim entering the last 10 minutes of the match, trailing 1-0. They had scored their goal on an excellent corner play that saw the ball headed down for Frederic Arpinon to beat into the net for his 1st ever goal past Dejan Semec. Trailing into the late stages, the match had been very frustrating as we had made some good scoring opportunities- only to waste them over the net. We were pressing our attack as much as we were able and it finally paid off late in the half when Mohamed Djouadi zinged a through ball to Christophe Lannoy. Lannoy's pass into the middle was just too long for Pierrick Noel to reach, but Alain Richard N'Koulou was just beyond him and hammered home a dramatic equalizer. Nimes, who were 2nd place to our 1st coming into the match, desperately wanted the win to move in front of us in the table, and pressed their attack with vigor. We took full advantage of that when Lannoy outraced their retreating backline and then slipped a pass to Pierrick Noel as they finally closed on him. Noel made a dazzling move with the ball and took it around Cedric Duchesne for a dramatic goal to put us ahead 2-1. Nimes pressed forward again and again we caught them on the break as a header by Daniel Prodan got beyond their backline and Lannoy was away. This time Lannoy took the shot himself and blasted it past Duchesne to cap a superb 3-1 rallying victory. The win puts us 6 points clear of 4th place Brest and 4 points up from Angouleme and Nimes- who were even for 2nd and 3rd spots with 7 matches remaining.

Noisy-le-Sec (4) Dijon (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- A.N'Koulou 26,36 Kennedy 37 C.Lannoy 54
Dijon- None
MOM- Daniel Prodan, Noisy-le-Sec

I must commend whole heartedly the effort that the club gave today as we turned what could have been a close match into a convincing 4-0 victory. The opening moments saw Christophe Lannoy very frustrated. In a great play off the opening whistle, he took the ball from defender Guillaume Benon and then broke in and around keeper Gregory Legrand. With an open net, Lannoy fired it squarely off the post and Dijon was able to clear it away. Minutes later a good pass from Kennedy put him free at the six-yard box, but this time Lannoy missed over the net. We were finally able to break the deadlock when Micha Djorkaeff sent a scorching cross that Alain Richard N'Koulou deflected into the left side of the net. N'Koulou was in the right place to tap in his 2nd goal of the match after Legrand had managed to get a hand on Mohamaed Djouadi's header off a corner from Kennedy. The rebound was perfectly placed for N'Koulou to push it into the net. Kennedy then found a seam in the Dijon backline less than two minutes later and Olivier Dos Santos was on target with his pass that allowed Kennedy to wheel and fire it home to make it 3-0 at the half. Lannoy finally got his richly deserved goal when Djorkaeff made a nice looping pass to put him in free and Lannoy drilled it inside the left post to make the final margin of the win 4-0.

27.3.04
Tours (2) Noisy-le-Sec (3)
Tours- M.Malonga 70 D.Minoungou 90-P
Noisy-le-Sec- J.Capoue 6 Jadilson 8,17
MOM- Dejan Nemec, Noisy-le-Sec

There is little doubt this result would not have been a win, were it not for the noble effort given by Dejan Nemec. Nemec has truly been a gift from the heavens to our club- as his steady play has improved our defense immeasurably- and none more than today's match. We were fortunate to stake our lead early in the match. Jean-Michel Capoue contributed his 1st goal when he pounced on a free ball after a scramble in the area and fired a 25 yard shot past Sebastien Socie. A few minutes later Christophe Lannoy flicked a header on and that allowed Jadilson to drive a shot past Socie inside the near right post. Tours' Jean-Marc Moulin then made a good tackle to strip Lannoy of the ball- only to see Jadilson reach the ball first and chip it past Socie as he tried to smother the ball for Jadilson's 2nd goal and a 3-0 lead. Despite the lead, Tours had little quit in them and kept the pressure on us the remainder of the match. Nemec made a series of great reaction saves on crosses as Kwami Hodouto again demonstrated why he will be leaving as soon as possible after the season. Nemec's luck finally ran out when we couldn't clear away the loose ball after a corner and Marly Malonga rapped home his 1st goal for Tours. They gained more hope when Daniel Prodan was called for pushing Bertrand Citron in the area in the opening moments of 2nd half injury time and Dieudonne Minoungou converted the penalty kick. We were able to block away their last chance and felt fortunate to escape with a 3-2 win.

10.4.04
Noisy-le-Sec (3) Cannes (2)
Noisy-le-Sec- P.Noel 37,77,84
Cannes- G.Zoko 10 R.Djebeilli 47
MOM- Jean-Michel Capoue, Noisy-le-Sec

Though Pierrick Noel carried us to the win with his destruction of the Cannes backline, it was Jean-Michel Capoue who was the key player today. Capoue ranged from sideline to sideline in his ballhawking defense and continually started our attacks with good passing. We fell behind early when Gnahoua Zoko broke clear of coverage to head a cross from Rachid Djebielli past Dejan Nemec. Nemec wasn't nearly as sharp as in our win against Tours. We equalized before halftime when Mohamed Djouadi's cross found Noel free on the edge of the six yard box and he hammered his shot past Jean-Daniel Padovani. Cannes took the lead again early in the second half when Djebielli was able to loop a header over Nemec. Cannes' problems quickly mounted though as Zoko had gone out at halftime with an injury and Djebielli followed him at 56 minutes with his own injury. Cannes was then caught short after using their last substitution when Fharid Ghazi was forced to hobble off and they had to play with only 10 men from the 71 minute mark. The extra space was deadly to them as Noel roamed through their defensive end unmarked. Djouadi again found him free with a cross and Noel scored his 2nd of the match to even things. Capoue then set up Noel for a one-on-one where he scored the match winner due to Capoue's dogged nature and hard tackling. Capoue took the ball away from Michel Rodriguez on a good tackle and then battled past Laurent De Palmas before deftly moving the ball to Noel. The comeback win disappointed newly appointed Cannes manager Raymond Domench in his coaching debut.

MOM- Pierrick Noel, Noisy-le-Sec

I am overjoyed to convey the news that we have clinched promotion to Division 2 play for next season. Once again, Pierrick Noel stepped to the fore of a difficult match. His dazzling goal helped lead us to a close 2-0 win on the road at Bourg-Perronas. We didn't play particularly well in the first half and the home side generated some good scoring chances. Fortunately, Dejan Nemec was back on his game today and made several well-timed saves to keep things scoreless going to halftime. We moved the ball better to open the second half and it was a slow buildup that found Kendal Ucar passing to Pierrick Noel outside the area. Noel lit up the match with a 30 yard thunderbolt past Benoit Pansier and we held the lead. Noel then used a burst of speed to roar past two defenders on the right side and sent a smart cross that Emmanuel Souloy had an easy time heading into the left side of the net for the clinching goal late in the second half. We now have three matches remaining and still look very good to capture the National top spot.

Raon-l'Etape- None
MOM- David Bruneau, Raon-l'Etape

Sometimes our best efforts go unrewarded, and that was the case today as we drew against visiting and already relegated Raon-l'Etape. I must say we compounded our own woes, by only shooting on net 5 times out of the 16 total shots we managed. Raon-l'Etape only managed one shot at Jeremy Guy for the match, so the scoreless nature of theirs wasn't surprising- but we missed three open nets during the second half. Despite the draw we still have a good opportunity to capture the National title.

6.5.04
All England Champions Cup Final, All Italian UEFA Cup
In a strange twist, both the Champions Cup and the UEFA Cup will be fought over by foes from the same countries. The Champions Cup Final will feature Manchester United (who knocked out Milan) and Chelsea (who edged out Inter). The UEFA Cup will feature Lazio (who defeated PAO) and Roma (who dumped Valencia).

Sannois- Y.Banelli 24,46 F.Mocka 60 M.Mavua 68 B.Maurice 90
Noisy-le-Sec- None
MOM- Benoit Maurice, Sannois

I must humbly apologize for our poor performance in the latest match. Our trip to Sannois was a golden chance to clinch the Championship- as they were 18th place coming into the match. Instead, we still managed to clinch the Championship due to Angouleme's 3-1 defeat at Pau, but it was a hollow celebration as the players and staff were just as embarrassed at our play in the defeat. There will be no excuses made- but clearly we missed the tandem of Daniel Prodan (out for the season now with injury) and Ange Ouefio (suspended for this match due to yellow card accumulation). Kwami Hodouto and Khoudir Ait-Mesghat both played abysmally bad in our backline. Dejan Nemec was not his normal self in this match either as they managed 5 goals in 8 shots. We did virtually nothing right all match- as our offense consisted mostly of missed passes and chuffing it back to our end to try and catch up with Sannois' counterattacks. Rest assured we will give a better performance in our final match of the year as we host Cherbourg.
