Noisy-le-Sec (1) Nimes (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- P.Ouerdi 72-P
Nimes- None
MOM- Patrice Ouerdi, Noisy-le-Sec

I wish to report that we are playing much better defensively now. Apparently it has just taken some time to let the backline gel, but they put forth a good effort today and Jeremy Guy made the saves he needed to- to preserve a clean sheet. We didn't show much offense today, mostly because Pierrick Noel was invisible out there- no presence at all. Still, we managed to earn the 1-0 win over 1st place Nimes when Frederic Apinon hacked down Alain Richard N'Koulou in the area. Patrice Ouerdi converted the penalty kick for his 1st goal here and that was enough for the close win. They were threatening to rally, but that faded when defender Anicet Adjamossi was redcarded for a vicious tackle on N'Koulou in the waning moments of the match.

Dijon (1) Noisy-le-Sec (1)
Dijon- G.Colonnette 28
Noisy-le-Sec- E.Souloy 61
MOM- Georges Colonnette, Dijon

A moment's inattention by Jeremy Guy proved very costly as we had to fight back to earn a 1-1 draw at Dijon. Dijon's captain Georges Colonnette used excellent vision, judgement and shot placement as he noticed that Guy had not been following the ball closely enough and hadn't moved over to close down the left side of the net. Colonnette's 30 yard shot sailed past the late reacting Guy and we trailed. Emmanuel Souloy brought us back to even with his 1st goal of this season in the second half. A good pass from Micha Djorkaeff allowed him enough space to fire a blast in off the inside of the left post after he subbed on for Alain Richard N'Koulou. We had some opportunities to take all three points from the match, but we couldn't take advantage of the good chances.

Noisy-le-Sec (2) Tours (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- P.Noel 55,72
Tours- None
MOM- Pierrick Noel, Noisy-le-Sec

We earned another well deserved triumph as we heavily outplayed visiting Tours in handing them a 2-0 loss. Despite heavy pressure in the first half we weren't able to score. Tours stubborn defenders were doing a good job of forcing us into bad shots and it didn't seem that we were close to scoring. We continued to press them in the second half and after a couple brilliant saves by their keeper- Sebastien Socie- we finally solved them to take the lead. Micha Djorkaeff had a wonderful match and his well placed pass allowed Pierrick Noel to use a burst of pace to reach it first and hook it past a diving Socie. Socie kept the visitors only trailing by one as he made a couple good stops on Jadilson (just back from suspension). Djorkaeff's devastating cross helped seal our win as Noel coasted in to head it into the right side of the net for his 2nd goal of the match. They never threatened after that- indeed they only had 4 shots at Jean-Marie Aubry- and we finished out the 2-0 win.

15.11.03
Cannes (3) Noisy-le-Sec (1)
Cannes- M.Gafour 55 M.Marsiglia 66 F.Ghazi 70
Noisy-le-Sec- P.Noel 14
MOM- Michel Gafour, Cannes

We reverted to our past ways in our match against Cannes and that allowed them to come back and defeat us 3-1. We had taken a lead in the first half on an excellent counter attack that saw Jadilson slot the ball for Pierrick Noel to take around Jean-Daniel Padovani. Cannes tried to rally, but we held firm until early in the second half. An ill-advised challenge by Kwami Hodouto allowed them a free kick from the center and they made the most of it as Michel Gafour whistled home the equalizer past Jeremy Guy. With Daniel Prodan out due to yellow cards, I must accept a portion of the blame for what followed. Kendall Ucar had already earned a yellow card and was tiring. After his protest nearly earned him a second yellow card- I brought on Khoudir Ait-Mesghat and moved Ange Ouefio to rightback. The pairing of Hodouto and Ait-Mesghat proved a very poor choice as Cannes took advantage of their lack of teamwork (and indeed their lack of good decisions) to score two goals in a four minute span. Mickael Marsiglia split the pair of them as they were slow to get back after a goal kick and rifled a 25 yard blast past Guy. Shortly after Farid Ghazi broke through them on the dribble and struck the inside of the left post with a shot that bounced in after to make the remainder of their 3-1 win uneventful.

Noisy-le-Sec (2) Brest (3) French Cup 7th round
Noisy-le-Sec- A.N'Koulou 26,64
Brest- L.David 9 C.Vanoukia 75 S.N'Zinga 79
MOM- Alain Richard N'Koulou, Noisy-le-Sec

I am sorry to tell you that our hopes of gaining some prize money in the French Cup competition were thwarted by another poor performance by Jean-Marie Aubry in net. We yielded the early lead to the visitors, when Aubry's punch went right to Laurent David and he hammered it into the net. We equalized behind Alain Richard N'Koulou- who was a force all day- when he took the ball away from Cedric Vanoukia and fired it past Frederic Cado. N'Koulou scored a brilliant goal for his 2nd of the match to give us the lead in the second half. Malik Benachour made a terrific run and was threatening to split their defense when he slipped a pass through to N'Koulou. N'Koulou forced Cado to dive and then chipped it past him from a sharp angle to make it 2-1. Alas, we failed miserably to hold the lead. Vanoukia headed in a corner to even the match again at 2-2. Khoudir Ait-Mesghat then couldn't get back to stop Soki N'Zinga before he fired a 30 yard blast past a stranded Aubry. It was a terribly disappointing loss.

Noisy-le-Sec- P.Ouerdi 59
Bourg-Perronas- None
MOM- Patrice Ouerdi, Noisy-le-Sec

It was a valiant effort by the visitors as we controlled the play and outshot them 20-1 for the match, but were only able to beat them thanks to a nice individual effort from Patrice Ouerdi. It was our own fault the score wasn't more telling as we were continually missing over the net on good chances. The lone goal came on a corner from Ouerdi that was headed back out by the defenders. Ouerdi took the ball into the top of the area and then struck a slashing shot inside the near left post for the only goal today. We left little to chance after the goal as Bourg-Perronas wasn't able to get out of their end with our pressure.

Raon-l'Etape (0) Noisy-le-Sec (4)
Raon-l'Etape- None
Noisy-le-Sec- Jadilson 9,79 A.N'Koulou 31 G.Demarez 84
MOM- Jadilson, Noisy-le-Sec

In our finest performance to date, we scored a crushing road win as we defeated Raon-l'Etape 4-0 in front of their disbelieving fans. Jadilson's quickness earned his 1st goal as Micha Djorkaeff blasted a shot off the crossbar and Jadilson rapped in the rebound before their backline could react. Olivier Dos Santos scorched a pass into the area and Alain Richard N'Koulou showed his scoring touch as he lightly redirected it past David Bruneau. The score stayed locked there for quite some time- but we were giving the home side little cheer as we kept pressuring them. They visibly tired in the second half and our advantage in condition paid off when N'Koulou's passes set up both Jadilson for his 2nd goal and Gautier Demarez for his 1st ever goal at Noisy to finish off the convincing 4-0 win.

Glad tidings I offer as Christophe Lannoy has completed his rehabilitation and rejoined us in training. With his return, I will likely move Pierrick Noel back on right wing. He played very well at forward, but we can use his blistering pace down the wing to help open up defenses.

Noisy-le-Sec (4) Sannois SG (1)
Noisy-le-Sec- Jadilson 16 C.Lannoy 23,53 Kennedy 54
Sannois SG- P.Planus 20
MOM- Jadilson, Noisy-le-Sec

Christophe Lannoy earned an ovation when he was announced and then another standing ovation when I replaced him during the match. His return was like a part of the wheel being put back in and our offense showed improved ball movement and chances because of his lightning quick presence paired with Jadilson. Jadilson gave us the lead after we had applied mounting pressure from the opening whistle. He knocked in the rebound after Robin Gasset parried away Kennedy's low blast from just beyond the area. We allowed them to quickly equalize as Pierre Planus deflected a free kick past Jeremy Guy. Lannoy was quick to take advantage when Gasset mishandled a centering pass from Mohamed Djouadi- and pushed the ball into the net to put us ahead 2-1. I was pleased with the determination that we showed to open the second half as we demoralized our visitors with a quick double goal strike. Jean-Michel Capoue's through ball found Lannoy just beyond the area and he blasted a low shot that Gasset couldn't stop for his 2nd goal of the match. Less than two minutes after Capoue showed fine vision in passing to Kennedy and his blistering volley beat Gasset cleanly for the final marker in the match. Both we and they were content with the 4-1 margin and the rest of the match went very quietly. I am pleased to enclose the table from this midpoint of the National schedule.

Sete- M.N'Dri 24
Noisy-le-Sec- A.N'Koulou 32 O.Labruna 87-OG
MOM- Patrice Ouerdi, Noisy-le-Sec

It was a bit of poetic justice that gave us our late goal and a close 2-1 road win. The winning goal came when Emmanuel Souloy blasted a shot off the crossbar and Olivier Labruna tried to react to the shot beating him and his arm inadvertently knocked the ball into the net. Souloy, who had come on for Alain Richard N'Koulou, had been stopped in one-on-one with Labruna minutes before as Labruna managed to block away and then smother his great chance after a through ball. We had traded goals in the first half as an ill-advised pass from Mohamed Djouadi had allowed Mickael N'Dri to step in front of Ange Ouefio and race away toward our goal. Guy should have had the 25 yard blast, but the ball went through him and into the net. We equalized as Christophe Lannoy centered a throw-in and N'Koulou leapt and headed it past Labruna. I was glad we were able to take the win, since we worked hard for it.

Angouleme (1) Noisy-le-Sec (1)
Angouleme- J.Guy 80-OG
Noisy-le-Sec- C.Lannoy 2
MOM- Jeremy Guy, Noisy-le-Sec

It was sadly ironic to see Jeremy Guy earn the MOM honours. He had played superbly and was the reason we were still clinging to the 1-0 lead late in the match, when he mishandled a corner into the net to hand Angouleme the 1-1 draw. They had outplayed us, to be sure, but we had managed to give Guy good support on the backline and he had come up with several great stops. Our goal had come in the opening moments of the first half when Christophe Lannoy half-volleyed a Pierrick Noel free kick past Stephane Lucas for his 10th goal of the season. It was a draw that we at least had earned, but we could well have taken all the points today.
