Flurry of Purchases for Noisy
Noisy-le-Sec announced several transfer purchases in advance of the transfer deadline. The most significant purchase seems to be that of 30 yr old MLC Kennedy from Cyprus side Paralimniou for 45K. The Zimbabwean National midfielder appears to be the dynamic player Noisy has been hoping to obtain to help run their attack from the midfield. In several other minor purchases Noisy added 30 yr old SW/DC Khoudir Ait-Mesghat from Poissy for 1K, 30 yr old MC Malik Benachour from Forbach for 4K, and 32 yr old DMC Stephane Billota from Manosque for 1K. Noisy also announced the signing on free of Yoann Khodabuccus a 22 yr old D/DMC who had been released by Laval.

Fernandes to Frejus, Berthier Also Sold
In a surprise announcement, Noisy-le-Sec announced the transfer sale of promising young Anthony Fernandes to Frejus for 14K. Apparently Fernandes was upset about being displaced in the starting lineup and made his unhappiness known. 22 yr old AMC Yannick Berthier was sold to Saint-Priest for a reported price of 1K with a sell-on clause. Berthier was made surplus by the latest midfield additions and was pleased to move to a club that would guarantee him a starting role.

Wasquehal (3) Noisy-le-Sec (1)
Wasquehal- S.Lecocq 27 J.Guy 34-OG A.Ait-Oourab 86
Noisy-le-Sec- A.Ouefio 38
MOM- Pierrick Noel, Noisy-le-Sec

We failed to put our best foot forward as we fell 3-1 to title contenders Wasquehal at their stadium. Though we could not afford to make mistakes against a club the caliber of Wasquehal- mistakes we made- and that cost us a chance at a better result. Our backline failed to cover Stephane Lecocq as Kendall Ucar was left behind by Gael Hiroux and Hiroux's cross was sufficient to leave Lecocq a simple header into the open right side of the net. Jeremy Guy, who I must report continues to play very poorly, then added to our woes when Lecocq smashed a shot off the inside of the far right post. The ball bounced back out to Guy, but he mishandled the ball into the net. We gained one back to close the margin when Ange Ouefio deflected a corner from Kennedy past Guillame Gauclin. We tried hard to even things in the second half, but they cliched the match when Ahmed Ait-Oourab hit an impossible 30 yard half-volley past Guy. I confess I had high hopes for the keepers on the club, but so far they have been extremely disappointing- we haven't had one step up with even a solid performance yet.

Noisy-le-Sec (1) GFKO Ajaccio (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- C.Lannoy 2
GFKO Ajaccio- None
MOM- Davor Stojanovic, Ajaccio

I am pleased to report the club put forth a good effort as we were able to overcome visiting Ajaccio 1-0. Christophe Lannoy sent us away nicely when Patrice Ouerdi made a superb pass to put him in free and he fired it past Ajaccio keeper Davor Stojanovic. Stojanovic blunted a couple other excellent chances by Lannoy and Jadilson in the early going. We were forced to assume a defensive nature when Mohamed Djouadi was redcarded for kicking Anthony Colinet in a most unchivalrous way. Djouadi will undoubtably also be handed a lengthy suspension for his action. We played well despite having only 10 men and we limited them to two shots for the match. We were forced to survive a penalty kick in the last 5 minutes of play when Daniel Prodan was yellow carded for upending Cedric Mouret inside the area. Fortunately, Mouret's kick bounced back off the post and Jean-Marie Aubry leapt on it to keep the clean sheet and the win.

Noisy-le-Sec (3) Romorantin (1)
Noisy-le-Sec- C.Lannoy 24,27 Jadilson 56
Romorantin- H.Akar 68
MOM- Christophe Lannoy, Noisy-le-Sec

It is with delight I may finally report our first win in National play. Christophe Lannoy continues to excite both the staff and fans with his explosive pace and he used it to great advantage today. Phillipe Durpes made a grave mistake when he tried to backpass to keeper Romuald Ardeois in that he failed to realize Lannoy was lurking. The pass was made with little pace to it and Christophe swooped in and slid is past the stranded Ardeois. He struck again less than three minutes later when Olivier Dos Santos put a pass into the area and a slight deflection left Ardeois flat footed as Lannoy raced in to push the ball into the left side of the net for his 5th goal this season. Kennedy played well in his debut and showed excellent touch on a pass that Jadilson ran onto before blasting the ball into the right side of the net. We did yield them some slight hope when Hakan Akar took a good pass from Tarek Bouabdellah and fired it past Jeremy Guy inside the right post for their lone goal.

Prodan Pulled
Key Noisy-le-Sec defender Daniel Prodan will miss the next three weeks due to a badly pulled thigh muscle. The rehabilitation process will begin shortly, but Prodan will miss the upcoming Louhans match and several others while out.

Louhans (4) Noisy-le-Sec (3)
Louhans- V.Carlier 31 P.Marchois 47 A.Mobati 57 S.Vaugeois 87
Noisy-le-Sec- Jadilson 52 Kennedy 54 C.Lannoy 84
MOM- Jeremy Guy, Noisy-le-Sec

I don't quite know how to categorize this match other than to compare to riding a ship on stormy seas. We fell behind in the first half and really didn't threaten them with anything as we mostly were on the defensive. They took the lead on another 30 yard strike, which left me extremely frustrated with Jean-Marie Aubry. He came to us with a good reputation, but hasn't shown anything of the ability the scouts and I thought he had. Early in the second half Phillipe Marchois overpowered Eric Yomi Kemayou (whose debut in place of injured Daniel Prodan was inauspicious) and fired past Aubry to make it 2-0. I felt compelled to bring on Jeremy Guy to replace Aubry at that point- and also sent Kendall Ucar to the showers. We rallied and in the span of three minutes had equalized on excellent strikes from Jadilson and Kennedy (his 1st for us). Our backline continued its poor play and though Guy made a great save against Carlier- Alphonse Mobati drove the rebound in to return the lead to Louhans. Once more we fought back in the late stages when Christophe Lannoy scored on another well placed shot, but our backline failed to clear a rebound after another brilliant save by Guy and Sebastien Vaugeois knocked the rebound in for a disappointing 4-3 loss for us. I believe our offense is really settling down and am pleased with it- but our backline hasn't shown much talent. Hopefully Guy can build on today's performance in net. The bad news on injuries is that Christophe Lannoy will miss at least two months after surgery to repair a torn groin.

Just wondering about your date on the above match as it seems to be out of sequence.

Noisy-le-Sec (3) Brest (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- Jadilson 8,19 P.Noel 16
Brest- None
MOM- Kennedy, Noisy-le-Sec

Pleased I am to tell you of our complete victory over visiting Brest. Despite lacking the explosive Lannoy, we scored three times in the first 20 minutes and pressured the visitors throughout the match in our 3-0 win. Jadilson continues to demonstrate what a good addition he has been with two extremely strong goals. Jadilson overpowered Ulrich Medard to deflect a cross from Kennedy past Frederic Cado to get us on the board first. Pierrick Noel scored his 1st goal for us when Emmanuel Soloy deftly slipped him a pass in the area. Stephane Billota's fine pass freed Jadilson to fire his 2nd goal (5th of the season) home for a quick 3-0 lead. Jadilson came close to scoring the hat-trick several times, but was a bit unlucky. The second half featured much of our passing, but not many shots as the visitors were content to keep the margin at 3-0 and never adventurous in the half.

Noisy Deals for Djorkaeff
Noisy-le-Sec today announced the signing on free of 29 yr old ML Micha Djorkaeff. Djorkaeff had spent the last several seasons with German side Kaiserslautern, but hadn't been able to crack the senior side there and was released during the summer. Djorkaeff will likely not play against Reims on the road, but may be ready to play against Pau at home in the following match. Noisy also announced that exciting winger Pierrick Noel- one of the bright spots so far- has signed a new contract that will take him through 2008.

Reims (1) Noisy-le-Sec (2)
Reims- M.Haddadou 14
Noisy-le-Sec- J.Four 30,61
MOM- Jerome Four, Noisy-le-Sec

It is wonderful to relay the news of our impressive 2-1 win at Reims. We conceded the lead early on with a bizzare goal as Mohamed Haddadou's corner curled inside the right post to the surprise of all of our players and most especially keeper Jeremy Guy. Diminutive Jerome Four proved he has a place on the squad as he led our comeback. Four amazed everyone with his ability on the ball and his lightning quick dribbles past defenders had Reims on their backheels. We equalized when Jadilson unselfishly sent a cross to Four to rap home for his 1st goal here in a two-on-one situation. Four then scored the match winning goal when he showed his dazzling footwork in moving past Cedric Faivre before scoring his 2nd goal of the match past Fabrice Grange. We had to survive their late, desperate rally attempts but managed to do so to win the close 2-1 match. I continue to be amazed at how badly Kwami Hodouto is playing. He has the physical talent and skill to play much better- but continues to show know judgement at all and consistently makes poor choices. With Prodan out- we have little choice but to keep playing him- for now. Good news too in that Jean-Michel Capoue returned for this match.

11.10.03
Noisy-le-Sec (2) Pau (0)
Noisy-le-Sec- P.Noel 74,76
Pau- None
MOM- Pierrick Noel, Noisy-le-Sec

I fear one of my humble shortcomings in your appointing this task to me is that I am not always a good evaluator of people. Judging by his brilliant performance today- Pierrick Noel should be a forward and not winger. We came close to scoring several times in the first 20 minutes of play as we swarmed them in their end. Jadilson committed a youthful indiscretion of kicking out at an opposing player and earned a redcard at the 27th minute (and likely suspension of additional matches). We still kept up our pressure- despite having only 10 men- thanks to our pace advantage and greater fitness. In the second half, things looked worse when Jerome Four was forced to leave the match early on. In a somewhat desperate choice on my part I moved Pierrick up front. I humbly submit that the choice was inspired as his blistering pace and finishing won us the match. Patrice Ouerdi, who had come on for Four, sent him away with a nice pass on the first one and Noel fired a rising shot past Jacques Leglib just inside the far right upper corner of the net. Kendall Ucar, who finally played a solid match overall, then sent Noel away again minutes later and he took the ball around the diving Leglib to score his 2nd goal of the match. Considering that Four has a badly broken leg that will keep him out for at least 7 months- I think Pierrick will get another chance to demonstrate his play up front.

18.10.03
Valenciennes (1) Noisy-le-Sec (1)
Valenciennes- M.Bucher 53
Noisy-le-Sec- P.Noel 70
MOM- Xavier Henneuse, Valenciennes

Pierrick Noel continued to show his promise as a forward as we fought back to draw 1-1 against Valenciennes. Our first half featured few highlights as we did not play well and had little to show other than we held them also to a clean sheet for the half. They took the lead in the second half when Matthieu Bucher was able to outleap Kendall Ucar and drive his header past Jeremy Guy. We were forced to sub on a couple players and play more aggressively after that goal. That paid off when Pierrick Noel took the ball away from Phillipe Burle in our half and rocketed down the right side of the pitch. Henneuse had managed to smother a similar chance minutes before, but this time Pierrick maintained control of his dribble and slid the ball past Henneuse to the left side for the equalizer. Henneuse earned his MOM by preserving the draw as we had several very good chances to win the match. They also had a few good opportunities, but were doomed by their own poor close-in shooting. The draw was a fair result for a good effort on our part.
