English Conference South
Game: 24/42

Weston-super-Mare vs FMS United (Woodsrping Park, Tuesday 11th January 2005 - Attendance 328)

"There's no point even turning up lads. You might as well all take a month long holiday until I'm fit again as you won't win a game until I'm back in the side."

Educated Hick's arrogance wasn't doing him any favours with the rest of the team, though HD, the man who would take over his place in the side for the next four weeks, just sat in the corner and smiled to himself, reminding everyone that as an American, Hick couldn't be blamed for his superiority complex.

Unfortunately, the smile was wiped off HD's face on the morning of the game as he suffered a cut head which kept him out and saw Nadessico start on the right wing, with glamdring keeping his place on the left. Needless to say, there were a good number of changes to the side, even considering that they had just won by four goals, but this time a few did manage to hold onto their positions, most notably perhaps united_forever, who was by far and away the form player in the league.

And in the early stages, it was the Aussie midfielder who ran the show, spraying passes left, right and centre whilst barely moving out of the centre circle. His partner in the centre of the park, Peacemaker7, was playing almost as well and had possibly a greater effect on the first half, scoring the only goal of it when he was played clear by Brian of Nazareth.

Weston were far from the worst side we had played though, and it was clear that a single goal would not be enough to beat them, so when Nadessico swung a cross in from the right and united_forever climbed highest at the back post to nod past Ryan Northmore, I was far more comfortable with our position. We had a few nervous moments after Michael Jackson pulled one back for the home side, but Ell and Back wasn't overly troubled as we sailed to another victory in our efforts to erase the pain of Carshalton.

Final Score: Weston-super-Mare 1 - 2 FMS Utd
Goals: Peacemaker7 (38); united_forever (59); Jackson (67)
Man of the Match: united_forever (10)
News: Tanel out for 1 week (damaged shoulder)

F.A. Trophy 3rd Round
FMS United vs Gloucester (Stade de Mao, Saturday 15th January 2005 - Attendance 175)

"Look, there's two hundred people out there if we're lucky. I couldn't honestly give a **** whether you win this game or not. Staying on track for promotion is all that matters to me."

Perhaps that wasn't the most encouraging message to send the players out with, in fact it quite obviously wasn't given that Gloucester took the lead after just twenty-seven seconds of the match, but at least I was being truthful; the F.A. Trophy meant absolutely nothing to me, not when one day I knew I'd coach this bunch of misfits to European Cup glory.

Our form player of the previous few weeks, united_forever, had called off injured just before kick-off - all he'd done was cut himself shaving, but what more can you expect from an Aussie? - and his replacement for the day, flipsix3, was easily the worst player on the park.

All in all, we were the better side. We had three clear chances before half time, two of which fell to mavericktango and neither of which found the target; Nadessico at least did make visiting goalkeeper Matt Bath work for his money, but not all that hard with a weak shot which the Gloucester #1 scooped up easily.

We even continued our superiority into the second half, battering shots from all angles and distances but rarely getting one on target. Indeed, only twice after the break did Bath have to touch the ball for anything other than a goalkick, once to collect a backpass from Jude Stirling and once when BobBev's shot from the edge of the penalty area nearly snuck by him at the near post.

Given our clear and unwavering apathy for the match, however, we didn't deserve anything more than we got, but at least we could be comforted by the fact that our fixture list would be that little less crowded as we passed into the important part of the season.

Final Score: FMS Utd 0 - 1 Gloucester
Goals: Morrison (1)
Man of the Match: Matt Bath (8)

Don't know what you mean :p

No idea why I put that in again, but it has now been removed. You can rest assured that you were only injured once.

Going well terk

but i have to say, I played two great matches, scoring two goals in the first and one in the second, and getting mom in both. Why did you drop me? I mean, you dropped me and we lost!!!

Just jokes mate. Every one has to get a go. Keep up the great work.
