Anyway, bottom line is that you can nominate any 2006 story (but only one per category!) in the following categories:
***************************************** Story of the Year already qualified: none
Best Story Character already qualified: Stephen Beckett - Whisky and Women (Terk)
Best Story Title already qualified: I've got ninety thousand pounds in my pyjamas... (Terk)
Best Story Idea already qualified: none
Best Short Story already qualified: none
Best Challenge Story already qualified: You Rrrrrrr's (We were once GREAT challenge 2006) (mavericktango)
Best British Story already qualified: Whisky and Women (Terk)
Best Rest of the World Story already qualified:I need to PP ! PP-70 that is (chesterfan2)
Best Fantasy/Super League Story already qualified: I've got ninety thousand pounds in my pyjamas... (Terk)
Best International Management Story already qualified: To Boldly Go As Faroe As We Can (Peacemaker7)
*****************************************
Please bear in mind that previous winners of an award cannot qualify for it again this year. I won't bother to inform people about invalid votes in interim rounds, just discounting them instead (any other valid nominations by that person will obviously count).
Obviously, you can't vote for stories listed as having already qualified for the final either. Apologies to mavericktango by the way: for some reason, I completely forgot to report his WWOG challenge attempt qualified after the first interim vote. :/
Any story that gains a third-plus-one (or a third rounded upwards to a full number, whichever prevents a three-way tie the most effective) of the total number of votes in a category, but with the added condition that this number is at least four (4) will automatically go on the final round shortlist for the end-of-season awards. Under normal circumstances, this would mean most categories would see one story qualify for the finals every interim round, though in theory it could be two, or none at all.
Valid votes are those that are:
* sent to fms@zelenazvezda.com
* have "FMS Awards 2006 - Second Interim Voting Round" as well as your user name in the subject line
* are claimed in this thread
Voting runs until Saturday 5 August, results TBA a day later. After that, we wait for the end of September or so for the last nomination round, before the final gets underway (ceremony will be around the time of FM2007's release).
Also: we initiated a debate about possibly scrapping awards like Best Story Title and Best Story Idea, and adding Funniest Story and possibly some "negative" awards like Biggest Kunt or whatever we want to call it.
If you fancy continuing that discussion, here would be a good place.

Does this mean if the author already won it or the story?

PS: we're still critically low on non-stillborn multiplayer stories. Unless it changes, it will again fail to produce an award this year.
Still trying to justify the rape of my award by conveniently mentioning it in relation to this year's category? Pah.
