Default A Scot From the North (AAC)

The Frenchman stood quietly and waited on the answer.

"Aye, I guess it will have to be me that does it," said the wiry Scotsman. "Both countries blood runs in me."

"You will have our support. The wrong may be affecting your land, but it had its inception in mine. Only

through our combined efforts can we defeat it."

The Scot sighed, "It is not you that has to see the effect on your town. Is there really a way to defeat it?"

The Frenchman stared thoughtfully at the North sea. "I have to believe so. The answer to what will defeat it

is an effort that doesn't involve any Englishman. The taint of their decisions has only made things worse and

allowed it to spread. It must be our countryman that undertake to break the curse."

"I didn't believe in witchcraft, nor did I believe in any such blarmy as curses."

"It is evident that they can be real, is it not?"

"All too."

"To break this curse on your village will take conquering the EPL. Only that has enough prestige to allow us

to break her hold."

"This all seems looney. Why would accomplishing something like that break the curse?"

The Frenchman shrugged, "Who knows about football fans? I laughed off the idea too, but the secret one told

me that this is the case. With his guidance, I finally believe that this is true."

"Well, I guess I should get started to Leicester. They expect me in the morning."

"Good luck, Will McDermott. I will meet you again soon."

MD- I was going to do something different, but decided to try Terk's interesting challenge- since it was similar to what I was considering (a reprise of the Freedom Fighter Challenge). Usually I have at least a start on the season before I begin posting- not so in this case as I only have an intro (and not too firm an idea on where this all is going ). My posting won't be as consistent initially on this one because of that. Using FM2006 with England, Scotland and France running.

Transfer Bloodbath at Leicester

New Manager Will McDermott has turned the club into chaos with his transfer listing frenzy. What is not clear is why this is being undertaken. McDermott has continually avoided the press at this early juncture and has not made his reasons for his actions clear.

***

"Yes, I realize you meant both countries when it came to stocking the club. Oh, you thought I was confused when mentioning Englishmen? I had taken it that you also meant other countries besides our two," said McDermott.

"The press think I am either an idiot, insane, or just incompetent. I haven't responded to any of them. I did have to give assurances to the Board that I had a plan, but you must have smoothed the way with them, because it was only perfunctory."

"Don't worry, I do have a plan. I am using my- and our scouts- knowledge to help try and gain some of the better young Scot talent. I plan on blending them with some skilled French players to gain a worthwhile melding."

6.8.05
Leicester (1) Millwall (1)
Leicester- Steven Hammell 74-P
Millwall- Barry Hayles 56
MOM- David Livermore, Millwall

We were a bit unfortunate in this one as we hit both uprights in the first half and then a crossbar in the second half. We also saw Andy Marshall come up with a couple diving saves for them. Their goal came when Barry Hayles slipped the marking of Scott Boyd and flicked a header past Rab Douglas. We hammered away trying for the equalizer and finally got it as Steven Hammell converted the penalty kick for a goal in his debut after Tony Craig pushed Mathieu Bucher in the area. We tried to get the win, but just weren't sharp enough. Marshall made the save of the match as he palmed away Liam Fox's free kick in the waning moments of the match. I have only seen Fox a small amount of time, but he appears to be one of the best free kickers I have seen.

9.8.05
Reading (0) Leicester (2)
Reading- None
Leicester- Darryl Duffy 28,45
MOM- Scott Boyd, Leicester

Reading played very well in this match, but our backline and Rab Douglas played better as the clean sheet was hard earned today. We took the lead midway through the first half when Iain Hume slipped a pass into Darryl Duffy. Duffy slid past Ivar Ingimarsson and put his shot away to score his 1st goal at Leicester. Duffy made it a brace in first half injury time as Kevin Bradley chipped a ball forward and Duffy blasted it past Graham Stack. Leicester had to survive a spirited rally attempt in the second half, but did so with aplomb as Douglas notched the clean sheet.

Two more transfer purchases for us as we paid 275K for Gary Kenneth from Dundee United. Also joining us for 80K from Aberdeen is Andrew Considine. Both are good young players and should help us we sort out the best way to mix our center defense.

Another important addition is 24 year old French leftwinger Steeve Theophile, who we purchased from Charleroi for 650K. We needed another leftwinger badly, though Kevin Bradley did Ok in that role in a pinch.

13.8.05
Leicester (3) Luton (1)
Leicester- Mathieu Bucher 2,59 David Clarkson 20
Luton- Steve Howard 28
MOM- Mathieu Bucher, Leicester

We were off on a flyer when Mathieu Bucher scored his 1st goal for us as he put away a rebound given up by Marlon Beresford in the opening moments of the first half. David Clarkson scored his 1st goal for us with a fine shot inside the right upright. Luton drew a goal back when Steve Howard blasted past Rab Douglas, but we answered that goal early in the second half as Bucher made it a brace by snapping a shot past Beresford after gaining a loose ball. We kept the pressure on them after that and didn't allow them further chances to rally- even after Cederic Berthelin came on for slightly injured Douglas in the second half.

The injury report after the match wasn't on Douglas, instead Willie Kinniburgh will miss 2-4 weeks recovering from a bad ankle.

"We currently have 29 Scot players and 21 French players- a pretty good balance at this point. We are a bit over our weekly wage budget of 100K, but I don't mind being a bit over with a current balance of 6.2 Million in the black."
