Ipswich (1) Leicester (1)
Ipswich- Nicky Forster 82
Leicester- Nicolas Rene Karlamoff 51
MOM- Steeve Theophile, Leicester
It was another match we should have won, but gave away the win at the end when a fluke goal left us splitting the points with Ipswich. We missed a couple chances to take the lead in the first half, but played very well during it. We grabbed the lead early in the second half when Nicolas Rene Karlamoff drilled a shot past Lewis Price after a good pass from Steven Hammell. We had played a strong defensive matches and appeared to have them under our thumb until Nicky Forster blasted a 30 yard kick that deflected slightly and caught the corner of the goal for a very frustrating equalizer for them.

Another transfer purchase for us as we paid 3K to Rangers to gain the services of French midfielder Marc Kalenga, he was happy to select us over three other clubs chasing his signature.

S****horpe (1) Leicester (0) League Cup 2nd Round
S****horpe- Andrew Keough 85
Leicester- None
MOM- Michael Fraser, S****horpe
We were upset by S****horpe, but had played most of the match with only 10 men- so it wasn't as bad as it looked in the papers. Alexis Genet earned his redcard for tripping Billy Sharp as the last man at 26 minutes. We played tighter defense because of it, but still found time to force Michael Fraser to come up with the big saves for them as helped earn a trip to the next round after Andrew Keough blasted a shot past Dean Mitchell in the 85th minute.

We signed three young keepers to help try and build some depth at the position. The oldest of the three is Graeme Smith, who came from Kilmarnock for 24K. Also joining us were Anthony Scribe from Montpelier for 150K and Yohan Hartock for 35K from Lyon. It was a good thing they joined us as Cederic Berthelin suffered a broken jaw and will miss the next month or so.

Leicester (4) Sheffield Wednesday (0)
Leicester- M.Kalenga 31 David Clarkson 33,39 Mathieu Bucher 60
Wednesday- None
MOM- David Clarkson, Leicester
It was a fine effort from the opening whistle to the closing one as we handily defeated Sheffield Wednesday 4-0. Marc Kalenga smashed a shot past David Lucas after a good skip pass from Steeve Theophile. David Clarkson made it a quickfire double on a pass from Ibrahim Ba as he helped gain notice. Clarkson added a second goal when Ba's pass found him again to make it 3-0 at halftime. The second half was the same as the first, though we added one more goal to cap the scoring as Mathieu Bucher came off the bench and scored almost immediately.

Another addition as we approach the transfer deadline was the acquistion of Scot midfielder Mark Kerr. Kerr cost us 200K to purchase him from Dundee United. Liam Fox is a bit worried by all the midfielders on the side, but he will still get a lot of playing time, so he needn't worry too much.

Burnley (2) Leicester (3)
Burnley- Garreth O'Connor 45-P Tony McMahon 79
Leicester- Darryl Duffy 45 Mathieu Bucher 75 Ibrahim Ba 90
MOM- Ibrahim Ba, Leicester
It was a wild match that we thoroughly deserved to win, but it took a last moment goal for us to accomplish it. We outclassed the home side early in the match, but were having a difficult time scoring on Danny Coyne. We finally broke through when Steeve Theophile used a burst of speed to reach a ball before it crossed the end line and crossed to the middle. Darryl Duffy was there to deflect the ball past Coyne. They answered immediately as Robbie Stockdale was called for holding Gifton Noel-Williams in the area and Garreth O'Connor converted the penalty kick past Rab Douglas. We pressured them again to open the second half and took advantage of a horrible backpass by Frank Sinclair that allowed Mathieu Bucher, on for Duffy, to swoop in and hammer it past Coyne. They pegged us back again as Tony McMahon smashed home a rebound after our backline couldn't clear the ball away to help Douglas- who had already made two saves during the sequence. After surviving an Ade Akinbiyi goal that was waved off on offside, Ibrahim Ba struck for the match winner in second half injury time when he deflected a cross from Theophile past Coyne. It was nice to earn the last minute win as we played pretty well in the match.

"It is a good sign. We swept the Player Honours for August. Steeve Theophile was selected Player of the Month and David Clarkson was Young Player of the Month. Also Scott Boyd was runner-up on Young Player of the Month honours."
"Well, I didn't expect to earn Manager of the Month, so it is a nice bonus- but it doesn't mean too much to me at this point."

Stoke (1) Leicester (3)
Stoke- Sambegou Bangoura 68
Leicester- Elliot Grandin 61 Liam Fox 71 Joe Hamill 82
MOM- Iain Hume, Leicester
After a very sluggish first half that featured very few shots and plenty of missed passes, we got our act together in the second half. Elliot Grandin poached a backpass intended for keeper Steve Simonsen and slipped it past him for his 1st goal for us. They pegged us back very quickly when Sambegou Bangoura ended a pretty passing sequence by putting his shot away past Rab Douglas. The key moment in the match saw Grandin bursting free at the edge of the area and Garry Taggert taking him down. That earned Taggert a redcard and we took full advantage of the free kick as Liam Fox blasted it past Simonsen to regain the lead. Joe Hamill then finished off the home side when he was in the right spot to drive a rebound into the goal after Simonsen made a diving parry on a blast from Fox.

Leicester (2) Cardiff (1)
Leicester- Darryl Duffy 7 Gary Kenneth 87
Cardiff- Joe Ledley 65
MOM- Gary Kenneth, Leicester
It took a fairly dramatic match winner and hanging on by our fingernails in the second half, but we managed to defeat Cardiff in a close 2-1 match at Walkers Stadium. The early portion of the match belonged to us and we gained the lead when Jerome Bonnissel crossed and Darryl Duffy put away the header. The visitors didn't manage much in the first half, but returned to the second half a changed club. They were all over us- pressuring the ball. They reaped the reward of that pressure when Joe Ledley scorched a 25 yard kick past Graeme Smith- making his debut in the Leicester goal. Leicester then took all three points when MOM Gary Kenneth got up and deflected a Liam Fox cross past Neil Alexander. Phil Mulryne could only shake his head when he flicked a header past Smith, only to see it bounce right back off the crossbar.

Preston (1) Leicester (1)
Preston- Claus Lundekvam 27
Leicester- Mathieu Bucher 28
MOM- Willie Kinniburgh, Leicester
We were on our backheels through much of the match as they appeared to be much more rested and quicker to every ball. That we managed to take away a draw from the match is a good result in my book. Rab Douglas played very well, but suffered a facial injury and will miss the next couple weeks. Willie Kinniburgh had a fine return from injury as his relentless play on the backline allowed us to escape with the draw. They scored on a corner, but we pegged them back immediately as David Keough's through ball was followed by a fine finish by Mathieu Bucher for his 5th goal of the season.

Derby (1) Leicester (0)
Derby- Malcolm Christie 31
Leicester- None
MOM- Malcolm Christie, Derby
Another frustrating match where we didn't show much offensively. We were forced to start 5th string keeper Yoann Hartock because all the other keepers were injured. Hartock did Ok, but Malcolm Christie deflected a sharp angled header on a cross from the left sideline past him. We were trying to put pressure on them, but their tackling was fierce and we couldn't find space in their area. Due to several players returning from injury in the lineup, we still didn't have much cohesion in our play.
