Right, I've thought about this, and I'll introduce a one year grace period for youth players. So, if player A is promoted from your academy in July 2007, you have until July 2008 to sell him. If the player is still on your books after a year, he must be released. This rule also applies to all youth players in your squad at the start of the game, they must all be sold within one game year or released. Hopefully that will provide a few with some extra cash.

to be honest, I'd thought it was reasonably obvious given that: "Your Premiership title or cup win only counts if, from the very first game of the season, your squad consisted entirely of Frenchmen and Scots" in the original rules seems pretty clear that you can have non French and Scots in the squad. Obviously not though.

and I don't see much harm in attempting to get the squad in shape during your first season. It'll mean than you can possibly go for things in style during your second or third (or fourth, or fifth etc ) season, rather than being stuck with illegible players who would ruin things if you were lucky enough to win something.

It also means you won't be relying on your illegible players and, as such, won't suffer too much when you manage to get rid of the filty peasants.

I've always found that dodgy players are even harder to sell once you get into The Premiership.

If you've picked the right club for this challenge then you'll know this problem all to well

I wish I had known about the "youth player 1-year exemption" as I had a decent player (20 for passing, good teamwork, determination, etc) come through that I might have been able to fetch a decent price for.

Ah, well... probably be the last decent one I see come through the set-up.
