Our Champions League groupstage adventure started in Anderlecht. Due to my lack of experience from Champions League and European football I had no idea who were the stars of this teams at the moment or in which state the club was so I had to prepare myself on few videotapes, that doesen't give me much info as I saw that they can play various styles. I had no injury worries.
Champions League, Groupstage, Gameweek 1 Anderlecht 0:1 Lleida (John Jairo Mosquera)
Our first groupstage match ended with a nice hardfought victory as we had few problems in some periods. It was great to see Mosquera open his scoring account this season with a nice finish on one on one situation. This hopefully will add to his confidence.

Just like last year our league season was opened up by a derby match againist Espanyol away. Eventhough at first Osasuna was supposed to be our opening match, but then it got rearranged. No injuries were yet troubling us so I was hoping that we can finally beat our derby curse with Espanyol as we have never won againist them before.
Primera Division, Week 1 Espanyol 0:3 Lleida (John Jairo Mosquera 2, Salvador Hernandez)
A great derby display from us and the new Primera Division season was opened up in style. Mosquera I guess found his form as him and Hernandez showed great partnering. Overally we deserved to win this game no doubt as we gave away just four shots in whole game, while we should've taken our possession into better use than just three goals.

We played the rescheduled game at Osasuna in Wednesday as we were certainly hoping to continue our so far good start to the new season, while Osasuna lost badly to Barcelona at home in the weekend. No injury problems were yet to trouble and I had a chance to continue with my usual line-up.
Primera Division, Week 2 Osasuna 0:5 Lleida (Salvador Hernandez 2, John Jairo Mosquera 2, Souleymane Faye)
Another brilliant display bringed us a 5:0 victory as it took some time to open up the Osasuna defence but we did it in the end and did with style as Hernandez - Mosquera parnership was simply brilliant again upfront as Mosquera in addition to his two goals also assisted the other 3 and Hernandez gave a succesful pass to one of Mosquera's goals.

Our league finally reached home stadium as we were preparing to face Albacete who had gotten off to a promising start this season as with two games they had collected 4 points and hadn't conceeded any goals. The injury troubles were luckily yet to come and my huge squad so far has been "useless".
Primera Division, Week 3 Lleida 0:0 Albacete
A totally frustrating performance. We gave away exactly how many chances the Albacetes score says, but we couldn't take use of our 10 or so chances! Every shot we made seemed to go over the bar and I was really disappointed with our strikers who's shooting was more out of place than the Pisa tower.

Champions League groupstage football also arrived to Camp D'Esports where we were preparing to meet Swiss no. 1 club FC Basel. I finally had my first injury as Alberto Lopez Garcia, our 18 year old starting center-back, got a knock againist Albacete. We were certainly hoping to win as it'd take us "very" close to getting through.
Champions League, Groupstage, Gameweek 2 Lleida 2:0 FC Basel (Luca Longo, Salvador Hernandez)
We had some troubles due to the Lopez Garcia injury, but another amazing display from our goalkeeper Antonio Fernandez Garcia ensured that 6th consecutive clean-sheet arrived and he'd get his 3rd man of the match award.
Our upfront made up for the Albacete game showing some nice and neat finishing to score two goals that bringes us a comfortable victory in front of home fans.
But words will ran out when trying to praise our goalkeeper Fernandez Garcia. He has been simply out of this world this season, making impossible saves, bringing out balls out of certain goal. This time he did something that topped it all. First he saved a free-kick, which our defenders failed to clear... Opponent player got the ball and was trying to shoot to the backpost as Fernandez Garcia was in the first post, but no, this plan didn't go through, Garcia made an incredible jump to bring that ball out of 101% goal, but that was not it, he had to get back immediately to make another miracle save as the opponent got the rebound and that all happened in space of nearly five seconds.

Confidence was again very high after the Basel win and we were hoping to get a home victory againist Villarreal who I was thinking to be one of our main opponents for the Primera title. I was hoping that our goalkeeper would keep another clean-sheet and I was sure we could score atleast one goal againist team that comes with attacking minded play.
Primera Division, Week 4 Lleida 1:1 Villarreal (Salvador Fernandez)
I was disappointed that we failed to make our chances pay again. We had some amazing opportunities. This time though we didn't shoot them over, but Villarreals goalkeeper showed himself to be high quality and make some very classy saves.
Our goal conceeded though was an ugly mistake from defence as their mistake gave no chance whatsoever to our goalkeeper.

We certainly had to win after two unsuccesful league displays. Celta had previously won againist last years champions Sevilla so they weren't certainly an easy opponent to face in an away game. Alberto Lopez Garcia was still out of this one and so was benchman Alberto Gonzalez who will sit out until the new year.
Primera Division, Week 5 Celta 0:2 Lleida (Sebastien Hernandez, Souleymane Faye)
A great display from us, but we still had some trouble due to the Lopez Garcia injury as we discovered how much he adds to our defensive displays. Luckily Fernandez Garcia in our goal was up for any kind of challenge Celta was going to throw at him and yet again he made strings of amazing saves to record his 7th clean-sheet in 9 games and get his 4th man of the match title!
Sebastien Hernandez also is proving to be a vital striker as he has scored over 10 goals already and this finish was certainly classy as he rounded the opponent goalkeeper before slotting it in.
