After a FMS Callenge disaster I decided to keep the game running in holidaymode untill june 22nd, 2007, see who gets promoted to the Conference North and South and pick one of the 6 newly promoted teams. Bradford PA was the winner. I added a new manager and took over Bradford PA.
Game: FM06 Countriesloaded: only England (all leagues) Database: huge Club: Bradford PA Startdate: July 1st, 2007 Mission: Stay clear of relegation.
A quick overlook at the (on holiday) squad seeing I had an astonishing 34 players (including 3 GK's). Found out 21 players had contracts running out on july 1st, only 4 looked to be decent enough to keep a place in the squad. 17 Players were released on july 1st.
The only scout was send out to scout UK and Ireland, both coaches starting their work and I eagerly waited the scout's first reports.
The Squad:
Goalkeepers: Jon WorsnopGK, 24yo Looks to be 2nd choice. Mark DavidsonGK, 20yo Talented, 1st choice
Defenders: Tony LyonsDR, 27yo only DR so far, 1st choice Brad ElamDL, 19yo Strong DL, one of the better players in the squad. Ryan TownsendDC, 21yo Aussie. looks competent. Tommy WelchDC, 20yo squadplayer, have to get some cover for this one Liam CattermoleD/M L, 20yo Backup DL/ML
Midfielders: James SilgramML, 24yo only leftside winger, looks decent. Nicholas MatthewsMC, 21yo DMC for now since I don't use MC's. Andrew QuinnAM RC, 27yo backup, possible to be transferred out. Luke CaulfieldAMR, 21yo Winger, have to get some cover for him Michael BunnAM RC, 20yo Backup Craig OwenAM RC, 16yo 16yo and first pick as AMC, promising player.
Strikers: Jon DalyST, 24yo 1.91m long Irish striker, good header Andrew ApplebyST, 21yo Backup striker Tony BotoST, 18yo Most talented player in the squad, long and heavy, strong header. Tom GreavesST, 20yo Another backup striker.
We need some improvent in defence and midfield, exspecially the left side is weak and we lack options there.

August 11th. Season kickoff. After bringing in 12 new players we hope to be ready for a fight against relegation. The board expects us to stay clear of relegation, I'm looking for the same. With the current mix of youths and some experience I hope it's possible. The DL and DM positions are still the weakest points in the team, we keep looking to improve those positions in the upcoming weeks, maybe snatch a player up on a loan. Since there's room enough in the wagebudget we have some room to move around in.
The starting line up looks like this: Davidson (gk); Elam (dl), Welch (dc), Townsend (dc), Lyons (dr); Hall (dm); King (ml), Owen (mr); Bunn (am); Daly (st), Boto(st). I'll try to stick to this squad for the upcoming weeks. Changes will be announced in the matchreports.
August 11th, Bradford PA 3-0 Stafford Rangers9-4 for a win Daly scoring after 3 minutes, Boto scoring his first goal just 9 minutes later. Bunn sucured the win before half time. Good kickoff to the season sees us claiming 1st place. If we keep playing like this there's hardly any problem staying up.
August 14th, Marine 1-2 Bradford PA6-4 favs Again Daly scoring fast, netting his goal after just 9 minutes. Marine equalised deep in the second half before Craig Owen fired in a freekick in the 84th minute putting us 2-1 up. Lady Luck smiled in the 94th when a Marine striker was offside when he bagged in the equaliser. We drop to 3rd place on GD.
August 18th Bradford PA 3-3 Moor Green5-4fav Drewing 3-3, where Moor Green only had 3 shots in the whole match. We had 9 on target and managed to score 3 times (Owen twice and Boto once). The equaliser came in the 92nd minute. Still in 3rd place.
August 20th, Steven RavenscroftML, 21yo joines in a free transfer.
August 23rd, Michael Bunn is suffering from flu and was send home. He'll be missed for 1-2 weeks.
August 24th, European Supercup: Man Utd p2-2 Tottenham Hotspurs.
With 3 awaygames in the upcoming 4 games, we look for a good start of this session to keep the morale up a bit.
August 25th. Vauxhall Motors 0-4 Bradford PAEvens(fav) One change in the starting line up: Luke Caulfield taking injured Bunn's place on midfield. Daly scoring twice before halftime (17, 35), Owen (66) and Boto (85) secured a good win. After the game we found ourselfs back on top of the league.
September 8th Leigh RMI 2-1 Bradford PA6-4favs One change in the team. James Silgram takes over Kevin King's ML position. Poor performance. Only Craig Owen seemed to be into the game, netting our only goal in the 17th minute when we were already 0-1 down. A fast 2nd half goal secured the win for Leigh, we never looked to come back. We drop to 6th place.
September 15th, Bradford PA 2-0 Lancaster5-4fav King back in the starting 11, Silgram out. Daly heading in a quality Lyons cross after just 2 minutes. King left the pitch injured in the 17th minute to be replaced by Cattermole. Daly scoring his second in the 70th was enough for the win. We crawl back to 2nd place.
Kevin King will be out 1-2 weeks
September 17, FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round draw: Aylesbury (non league) - Bradford PA, match to be played on september 22nd
September 22nd, Aylesbury 0-4 Bradford PA13-8 FA Cup 2nd QR. Steven Ravenscroft taking King's ML place, no other substitutions. Owen breaking the deadlock after 40 minutes, Daly making it 2-0 in the 64th before Boto bagged in 2 counters in the 86th and 90th to secure a big win.
September 24, FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round draw: Bradord PA - Stalybridge (non league) Match to be played on october 6th.
September 24, Cattermole twisted an ankle and will be out for 2-4 weeks.
September 29 Bradford PA 3-1 Hyde5-4 fav No changes. Jon Daly scoring his usual goal after 24 minutes, Hyde managed to get 1 shot on target and it went in, 1-1 at ht. Daly's 30 yarder in the 2nd half and Boto's header a few minutes before the end secured the win.
October 3rd, Burton 2-0 Bradford PA3-1 Poor first half, went down 0-1 quite fast. Second half started even poorer when Burton scored their 2nd goal. Rest of the game flew by. We didn't get a single shot on target. Dropped to 4th place.
October 6, Bradford PA 1-2 Stalybridgeevens FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round. Again a poor game in which we created hardly anything. By halftime we were 0-2 down, after the tea Boto managed to get us one back, but is was again an embarresment.
October 13th, Hednesford 3-0 Bradford PA13-8 Boto removed from the squad (Tom Greaves took his place) and with King back on his ML position we start looking for a win. Went 0-1 down in the first half and again it didn't look like we could get anything out of this game. When Hednesford made it 0-2 we knew it was useless once again. Hednesford countered to a 0-3 lead in the 2nd half before Appleby (went to on replce Greaves) got our only shot on target which was saved by the goalie. Despite the loss we climbed a place to 5th.
October 15, FA Trophy 2nd Qualifying Round draw: Bradford PA - Trafford. Match to be played on november 10th
October 20th, Bradford PA 1-0 Wakefield-Emley5-4fav Boto back in the team, Greaves out. Owen scoring in the first half to put us 1-0 up at halftime. We kept pushing in the second half but the score didn't change. We climb another 2 places, but it's not a complete table since only 8 teams have played 10, the others only played 9 games.
October 27th, Worksop 0-2 Bradford PA6-4fav "Highlight" in the first half was losing Daly on a injury. Without Daly's power upfront Boto decided to do the job, bagging in 2 in the 60th and 90th to secure another win. We're in 4th place after this win and some midweek games before.
Jon Daly is out for 2-4 weeks.
League Table on october 31st.
1. Southport 11-28
2. Barrow 11-24
3. Stafford 11-24
4. Moor Green 11-23 5. Bradford PA 11-22
