...I took over Fiorentina during mid December 2008. They were 19th and upon agreeing terms, the board wanted me to get a EURO place at the end of the 2 year plan. The board realise I haven't been in charge of the previous matches, so they don't judge me.

Fast forward to the end of Fedbruary, I'm winning my home games and losing/drawing my away ones. I've gone up to 14th, although it's tight and back to back wins will no doubt result in my breaking the top 10.

However, the board seem to be angry I'm staying clear of relegation; it seems as if the board are comparing the situation at the present to the aims agreed before my arrival under the previous manager, this I'm fairly sure of; because it needed addressing when the game had no patch, and was eventually fixed in the beta one, as I will explain...

I took over, if memory serves me correct, at least 5 (or more!) times during a season on the beta patch, and every time, even if I took the team below the expectations of the last manager, the board stuck with me, continually acknowleging the results prior to my coming were not my fault.

I thought this would happen during my Fiorentina season (on the official patch), however I got the sack, even though I know in my heart I would still be in charge if I was playing on the beta patch.

Has this aspect of the game been tampered since the beta patch update

i have had same problem with 2 clubs now 1 never got offered contract 2nd got sack just wish si would say if this is problem or not im using new patch as well so come on si take you too mins too say if its problem or we are just unlucky

anymore news on this problem just want too know if worth giving this game other go but dont if im always either gonnna get sacked or not offered new contract

I haven't had a problem getting new contracts. Gone both up and down in the divisions with the same team.

I believe that I read from someone else (who even uploaded proof) that his board axed him for exceeding expectations in the original version of the game. I believe that Amaroq or another heavy hitter suggested that this person submit this to the bugs forum. From there, I've read nothing else.

I did personally experience a similar thing with Blyth. My first season, I saved them from relegation. My second season, I won promotion through playoffs. My third season, I was able to avoid relegation in the BSP. My fourth season, I was still avoiding relegation, had met/exceeded every criteria the board had for me. It was January, I wanted to renegotiate my contract, they delayed until the end of the season (I was 15th in BSP) and still meeting every criteria. My confidence in the first criteria (long range plans) was completely filled because I "far exceeded" the board's recommendation. Coca-Cola League 2 teams were tossing my name around. My description was "talented manager". I wanted to show loyalty to board so I asked for an early contract extension. As mentioned, they delayed and then sacked me with no warning whatsoever.

I used my last save to see if the response would be different following the season's conclusion (June 1st). 5 consecutive times, I was sacked. Talk about rage....Jose at least had rumblings before his real-life sacking. I wanted to talk with dafuge to compare his experience with Staines over a pint or two. Now I'm with Halifax in the BSP and wondering if the same thing is going to happen again?

I want to know if the patch fixes this problem too!
