Nope closing down was bad in beta 1. They really don't close down at all until the absolutely have to and then it is sometimes too late.

I was loving the game before the patch, and was hoping that once they resolved the close down issue that this game would be legendary. But I find since installing the patch I just don't enjoy the matches as much, because of the stupidly of my offensive players. I think I am going to go back and just live with the lack of closing down.

Closing down bug was almost fixed in first beta patch. I played 3 full seasons with this patch watching all the games and was very pleased with how the players are closing down.
Don't listen to people who are saying that closing down bug is not fixed in the 1st beta patch. Just test it yourself.

I don't mean to make it sound like closing down in beta 1 was a show stopper. It wasn't too bad but I found at times I was wanting my players to close down more when a player was in a good scoring area.

I love the closing down in the full patch, but hate some other things...

Playing FM 2008 with 1st beta patch feels to me like playing CM 01-02 all over again. It's as simple as that.The fun factor is guaranteed with this patch.
The full patch has a lot of bugs and gives me headaches every time I try to start a new season.

im struggling to find a successful formation for 8.0.1, but think it is probabaly the least bugged.

I had a belting formation for beta 1, and cant decide whether to go back now, it almost feels like cheating or selling out, giving up for the easy win?

Someone else choose for me...

I'm trying to remember what was changed between beta patch 1 and 2... Beta patch 2 seemed to run slower and stutter on my computer I remember that.

Beta 1 was slowest, Beta 2 had the start of the match engine stutter IIRC.
