| I agree -- I've bought every version of this game since 1998 and I don't think I'll be forking out for the next one. I am part of a steady stream of revenue for SI, the person who buys the game year in, year out, the person they don't need to focus adverts on because I'm reliable. This version of the game is boring to watch and boring to play. I'm sure SI would rather hear that from me now rather than wondering next year where all their once loyal customers went.

I would think they judge customer satisfaction by looking at the revenue trends and copies sold from year to year, but I don't know maybe I am wrong and when they see some clown post a bye bye post they consider shutting down the company?
| Oh, so now he's a clown for not liking the game? He's explaining why he doesn't like the game. If I'm not mistaken people are allowed to criticise on these forums, as long as they explain themselves and he does just that. He's not offensive. He's just saying that he can't play the game for several reasons after having fun with previous versions.
What good is the number of copies sold this year if a lot of the people that have bought the game don't seem to enjoy it? SI are in it for the long run and if people are finding this version unsatisfactory, there's a big chance that they won't buy next year's version. I bet SI won't be very happy when that happens thus they should see this year's complains as a good indication for next year's success.
This is the first time that I've seen people that have been on these forums for 5-6 years, say that they won't buy the next FM. Now that's worrying news for SI in my opinion and a good indication of things to come.

Am I seriously missing something here? I'm not sure what these bugs are. I'm having fun plodding along with my Lyon game. Can someone shine some light into this situation?

| It's not entirely a joke when people snap their disks and come on here to proclaim, "Nevermore!" but this does tend to happen whenever a new version is released. We saw the same threads ad nauseum when 07 was first launched. And 06 players were complaining that the game was ruined after 05, and said they were through with buying new editions until SI got it right. I assume it was like this well before then as well. Was CM4 greeted with ecstatic rapture? I seriously doubt it.
Plus ca change... for some people, it hasn't been good since 01/02.

why do people feel the need to complain and bump a post that they regard as being pointless?

| Just looking at the statistics (revenue etc) will never give the full picture, people posting here telling SI why they doesn't buy the game is quite helpful (though comments from those still playing are too).
The bottom line though is that posts like this are aimed at SI and not at those users that have been in here whining.
