Also the Ukranian bug still remains.

I have played the game from CM4.

This new version is only a bad (and expensive) joke.
I think SI had the best intention, but unfortunately (for us) this is the worst version so far.

I agree that FM08 with the latest patch is a disgrace, and the complete absence of SI staff comments to its shortcomings(post-patch) is nothing but a slap in the face to all PAYING CUSTOMERS that have payed top dollar for a sub-par game that doesn't keep what it promises AND that have waited for MONTHS for it to be fixed just to be handed the 801 aka stale joke patch.

I don't understand how there even can be a discussion to whether to shots on goal / goals scored ratio is a problem or not. Get real people! This game claims to be a SIMULATION. Firstly, in what real match does strikers get 10 one-on-ones each? And in what real match would strikers, when one-on-one shoot DIRECTLY at the keeper 10 out of 10 times?

I've said this before. SI totally busted up the match engine while working on the patch. "Gee, looks like the teams produce SHITLOADS of chances whatever the cirumstance..." "Yawn, just have the players blow 95% of the chances."
"Yay! problem solved."

The problem isn't really that the player can't convert the chances, the problem is the amount of chances created.

Extremely disappointed SI. Unless you give customers that bought FM08 a substantial discount on your next installation for having to put up with all this crap, I will never pay for a SI product again (That DOES NOT mean I will get it unlegally btw.)

I was expecting another typical rant about how you can't win, despite changing your tactics etc. Refreshing to see someone calmly point out the biggest problems in the game (I actually agree with every point for once too).

I'd also like to add transfer negotiations being completely ridiculous STILL. You bid £5m for a player, the other club asks for £8m. You bid £8m and they ask for £10m.

No, when I cant win I can usually pin where the problem lies (on my b****** goalkeeper) :p

Negotiations are working very well when theres only a flat fee involved - I've done plenty of negotiating down, I want £100k, they want £800k, get it down to 4 or 5. The problem lies when theres monthly payments or extra percentages or friendlies, then every negotiation pushes the price up - gets a bit silly when an amateur team in San Marino wants £800k because I was trying to negotiate the % of next sale down.

I cant believe I forgot the Ukrainian problems too... Turkey, Norway, Spain, Portugal and Ukraine are all apparently wrecked

And SI never comment! TBH Miles should be sacked for this debarcle...

It wasn't ready, the SI team are not efficient and capable enough to deliver what the customer demands.

You will always get the fanboys who like thier status on the boards as well as the mods who will say it's great!

But perusing the board IT IS OBVIOUS THAT FM08 IS THE WORSE ABOARTION THAT SI HAVE RELEASED!

More people on this forum complain than praise!

And SI DO NOT EVER REPLY!!!!

Hopefully Sega will see sense to take this to another level

Look despite the fact there are problems still with the game.
Its not like its unplayable by any stretch of the imagination.
Maybe they are not replying to every thread left because they are working on the problems highlighted in this forum.

But anyway its no use posting the bugs and problems you have in this forum. Post them in the bugs forum with evidence to back your claim up and you will get a reply.

pretty irrelevant to say that more complain than praise... you could say the same about any other game/piece of software/consumer product...

it's part of the human condition - people are MASSIVELY more likely to speak up if they DON'T like something than if they DO...

"Sega will see sense and take it to another level"
and do WHAT exactly? get rid of SI? (who have, let's remember made COMFORTABLY the best game in this genre EVERY year for the last 15 or so)... doesn't really seem all THAT smart tbh...

and as for sacking Miles... lol... why exactly? how is the state of the game (good or bad) his fault?

B*ll*cks. The game has problems, but not enough to stop people playing to a satisfying level if they know what they're doing. There are a lot of console playing twats who grumble if they don't get instant results and that's the people clogging up these forums.
