First of all this is not all my own work as the tactic is based loosely around a tactic i tried on here which was a 4-1-4-1. I have switched it to a 4-2-1-2-1 to help support the defence that i felt was a bit too open at time. I have used this tactic in the premiership with Manchester City, where without any signings i came 2nd to sadly none other than the red side of manchester, after two seasons of success and a fa cup, league cup and succesive top two finishes, i heard that ebbsfleet where being took over in unusual circumstances so yes i will admit i jumped on the editor and give ebbsfleet 100,000 in the kitty and put giorgi kinkladze in the squad( i couldnt bear to see this legend not play be at a team!)in my first season i won the conferance with the same tactic but the tempo slightly lower, 2nd season i won the 2nd division and now im currently in my third season in 2nd posistion in the league with a game in hand to grab top spot, although the start of the season i lost 2 of my first 5 games i think it was just a time of adjustment for the players and also the fact that a few were wanted by other clubs so obviosly being slightly unsettled untill september came. i didn't experience a mid season slum as you usually do with tactics that start so promising. This is mainly a counter attacking tactic with most forward play using the wingers feeding of balls from a target man or the attacking midfielder, there are two defensive midfielders with the one on the right being the more offensive the team i played for man city was as follows
isaksonn gk
corluka rb
garrido lb
richards and dunne cb's
hammaan left dm
johnson right dm (more attacking)
elano cam
giovanni rw
petrov lw
bianchi st
with ebbsfleet the team at the mo are as follows
p.gerrard gk
c.basham rb
s.jamieson lb
miller and avinel cb's
a.grant ldm
de bolla rdm
kinkladze amc(still picking out those passes at 36!)
anyinsah rw
forde small lw
c.sheringham st
most important things about this tactic are the fact that the scoring opportunities you get are generally one on ones or from good angles with the wingers plus the ocasional beauty from outside the box, its not the amount of shots you do its where those shots are from and the difficulty in scoring from that posistion.!
its very important to have a tall target man up front as a lot of the play will go through him so try and have someone over 6 foot tall decent strength and a bit of acceleration on the turn, and as with all strikers dont just check the finishing ratings check the composure and technique as i feel the latter counts as to how well they are able to strike a ball.
cheers. hope it works for you by the way any feedback that is given will people please make sure they leave the name of the team they tested it with and what worked and what you thought could be improved as i am hoping to make this tactic even better.
