I was trying to create a 4-2-2-2 tactic (flat back four, 2 centre mids, amr, aml and a big man/little man front combo).
I was then going to design a "home" tactic and an "away" one.
Unfortunately, no matter what I tried, my "home" tactic just wouldn't work.
My "away" tactic, however, was absolutely flying - and oddly, after trying it at home, it seems to work at home too.
I honestly have no idea as to what the reasoning behind it working is (especially at home), but it does.
Please feel free to try it and prove me wrong, but I've had more success with this and much better conversion of chances than the more popular tactics on here that I've tried.
Flat back 4, with full backs having barrows (they need these as they're exposed a lot with little protection in front of them).
Right-sided MC is the defensive one, left-sided gets forward more.
AMR and AML are as you'd expect - pace, crossing and dribbling are important.
Big man/little man combo up front - and this is the basis of the tactic. Jumping and strength very important for big guy, pace and finishing for the little un.
I won't bother uploading my "home" versions, because they're rubbish, quite frankly.
There are 2 versions of my away tactic, and they're both almost identical - only difference is that the front two are switched around on either tactic. This is to allow you to adjust more easily during the game if the AI switches the centre halves around to mark your target man (your most important player) with a better aerial defender - keep an eye on this, and switch between the tactics during the game to make sure your target man is up against their weakest aerial centre back.
It's working really, really well for me - just need someone else to try it and give feedback.
