TBH I was having problems thinking about people we really miss, who haven't already won this award. Mind you Don Samioni suddenly springs to mind and although we miss Mao he does pop in and start something now and again as does that old whiner SMSL. Even Gino has, I think, actually written something this year.

In fact now I think about it, did BrianW not actually start a story?

He did, but it won't be classed as a story, rather it'll enter the Index under the stillborn stories tag. I've worked on that basis for years (even though the actual updated index hasn't been available for too long), so it's not changing rules as such, but it is a fairly liberal interpretation shall we say

At any rate, the definition probably needs an update, because it's most missed FMSer, not most missed writer. As an FMSer, Brian's sadly not an active community member anymore :/

Hmm, and I suppose it all depends on the definition of what we miss. Flippers still writes, but we miss his wider contribution to the community. Oh and Bagpuss, hell we surely miss his ugly mug!

I was all set to post about how this is the same old names the same old clique blah blah...until I realised I'd been nominated for best newcomer. What fantastic awards these are!! I promise to do a tom hanks style acceptance speech if I win...which probably guarantees that I wont.
