Hmm, possibly, but surely the reason they weren't voted official was because they didn't catch the imagination?

Maybe we should have a "Best of..." where some of the winning challenges are revisited, particularly those that predate FM06?

I quite like the idea of a 'best of' as well. I don't agree that all losing challenges didn't catch the imagination, as we had some decent entries but there just happened to be a better one that time and the others were just dumped.

What I think I might do is this. Vote one of the current entries, and one previous failure. Or, disgard the current entries and vote 2 previous failures. Or even discard the current entries, vote one previous failure and one previous winner?

I'm open to suggestions, but there isn't really a lot of interest I can see here?

i know that having two challenges could seem like one too many but why not have three

    one from the current entries
one from the 'best of' and
one that fail to make it as a offical challenge

Ok I'm not open to suggestions anymore, I've decided.

All challenge entries for this round will be 'kept on file' till the next time. I've noticed that a lot of what people want in their challenge is fairly specifically rated to FM07 and I think we need to wait till that is ironed out a bit for everyone. So, those who have submitted challenges, you haven't been forgotten and those will go automatically forward to the challenge entries for numbers #3 & #4.

Whilst a 'Challenge of Challenges' is certainly very appealling, we have by my counting 21 official challenges at the moment, so if we wait till the end of this year will we have 25 to choose from and can even run that as a special event.

What will happen then is that I will list all previous challenges that did not get elected as official and we will pick two of those. Now actually, I won't list them all because it appears some are missing, but I;ll list as many as Raptor has on the site. I think, given the lack of responses and the lack of what I percieve to be quality (Thats not a snub, I think most of us who've been here long know whats a good challenge and few of what I've recieved I feel are at that level.) this is the correct thing to do and it also means people can work on their challenges for another six months and get them feeling better.

Look our for the vote thread soon. We'll worry about cross compatibility if and when a challenge needs to be selected and I realise this might well screw up the challenge awards but heh, the forum isn't just about awards so tbh, screw that :p

Yeah thought of that but didn't like it, I think we have the 'best of' as a stand alone as otherwise it might be unfair on the others chosen!

Some of the previous entries were drivelicious - any chance of ignoring those with 0-2 votes when entered, or no records?

Yeah I'm going through and omitting the really really bad ones and the ones I don't like :p Erm still a lot, but if it looks too much I'll trim it back again. Have to go to work now though.

One thing I noticed is that Bobbev stole the Brian Clough challenge, so I suggest he loses that award

I didn't steal nuffink guvner (at least I don't think so). Was there an earlier submission then? Probably before my time here.
