1. THE LONDON CHALLENGE
Basically win the Champions League with 3 of these London clubs.
Arsenal
Tottenham
Chelsea
Leyton Orient
Charlton
Millwall
Crystal Palace
Wimbledon
QPR
If you want to add any clubs, feel free, I can't think of any more.
A couple of rules.
1. No buying players from any club outside of England
2. You must start as low as possible. For example if you start at Leyton Orient, which you would have to do unless there are anymore lower, and win the CL with them, then you must go to the furthest club down the league ladder, which would be QPR if they didn't get promoted.
3. You cannot go to a Premiership club. They must be in at least D1 before you can take over.
4. You can leave before winning a then go back later
-------------------------------------------
2. Freedom Fighter Challenge
Path 1: Unionist (Northern Irish)
You are a bright young managerial prospect in the Northern Ireland Amateur Ranks. You have achieved success in every coaching position you have been in, however a black mark hangs over your head and has prevented you from getting your first managerial job. In 1996, you were actively involved in the Orange Order during the July Parades…
During a riot in Belfast you are arrested for assaulting an Irish Catholic, and although no charges are laid, you feel it has prevented you from taking the next step in your career and deep down you continue to harbour a strong resentment to the Irish people for this.
Eventually after five years of trying to clear your name you are offered a total of three managerial positions over the Summer of 2001. Institute, Distillery and Armagh are all willing to let what happened in the past stay in the past, and are looking to you to turn around their team.
Step 1: Success At Home
In your first managerial job with Institute, Distillery or Armagh your goal is to win the Northern Ireland Premier Division with a side comprised entirely of Northern Irish players.
After this task is completed, you get the chance to head down to the Republic of Ireland, to prove once and for all where you can extract your revenge on the football field.
Step 2: Ruling the Republic
You accept a job in the Irish league with whichever team will accept you. From this point you begin to stock your team full of Northern Irish players. Your goals in the Republic of Ireland are to win the Premier Division twice with a starting eleven that regularly features at least five Northern Ireland players.
After achieving your goals in Ireland, you decide to head to a bigger league…Scotland.
Step 3: How do you Like Your Haggis?
You can start with any Scottish team provided they are not in the Premier Division, or in Division One (in other words the club must be in Divisions 2 or 3). The goal again is to stock your starting eleven with at least five players from Northern Ireland. From your starting point in the Scottish Lower Leagues, you manage to take your club to European Competition, either the UEFA Cup, or if at all possible the Champions League.
Even the most sceptical of chairmen are starting to notice your achievements now…it’s just a matter of time before you make the move to England…
Step 4: A Brilliant End
You move to any English side you wish, provided they are not in the Premier League. With at least three first team regulars from Northern Ireland, win the Premier Division, and then go on to claim Champions League Glory. In the Champions League Final, your squad must feature at least four players from Northern Ireland; one must be the captain of your team.
Along the way at any point in the scenario you must take over the Northern Ireland job and qualify for either a European Championship or World Cup. You may or may not decide to have a break in your club career during this time…it’s up to you.
Path 2: Republic of Ireland
All it took was one trip to Northern Ireland for your life to change forever. A useful young footballer who was being considered for National Team honours at one point, your career was ended in the July Parades in Belfast when some drunken slob broke a bottle over your kneecap. The glass shards wound up severing a ligament, and effectively ending your career. Fortunately, your club was kind enough to keep you on in a coaching role, and in the past five years you have shown that you have considerable potential in the managerial field. So much so that your agent has solicited three offers from Division One clubs asking for your services as manager next season. The three clubs that had come calling on you were Finn Harps, Kilkenny City and Dublin City. You know you will accept one offer, you just haven’t decided which yet.
Step 1: Conquer the league boy
With your lowly First Division club, you must win the Irish Premier Division with a club consisting solely of Republic of Ireland players.
Step 2: Victory Parades not Orange Order Parades
After proving your dominance in your homeland you decide to show those Northern Irish players just who the better nation is.
You accept a job in the Northern Ireland league with any team. Your goal there is simple. Win two straight Northern Irish Premier Division titles with a starting eleven that features at least five Republic of Ireland.
Step 3: Scottish Successes
Your next step is to head to Scotland. You can start with any team who offers you a job provided they aren’t in the Premier or First Division. The goal again is to stock your starting eleven with at least 5 Republic of Ireland players and lead your team to Europe.
Step 4: London Calling
Start with any club in England, provided they aren’t in the Premier League. With at least 3 first team players from the Republic of Ireland win the Premier Division and go onto win the ultimate prize. The Champions League. In the Champions League Final you must have at least four players from the Republic of Ireland in the squad; one must be the captain.
Along the way at any point in the scenario you must also take the Ireland job and qualify for either the European Championships or a World Cup...
Catches:
Changing jobs in Scotland and England is acceptable. It isn't in the first two stages. For example if you complete the Northern Ireland stage with Distillery and want to move to stage two in the Republic of Ireland, the team you join there is the team you must win the two titles with.
Your assistant manager must always be the same nationality as you. If there is a Scottish Assistant at the team you join in Scotland, you must sack him and find a replacement. If there is no willing replacement you go without an assistant...tough luck.
If you are fired, you move back a step. If you're fired trying to win in Scotland, you need to head back to your stage two, or if you are fired in England you need to recomplete your goals in Scotland.
Here's why I think this one could be interesting.
There's countless different paths you could take to get from A to B to C...also each scenario involves different difficulties. The Northern Ireland version would obviously be harder than the Republic of Ireland version. But regardless of which version you start there's a big challenge ahead of you...
The drawback of the Sir Alex Challenge was the way it was so heavily scripted. When no one was able to move from East Stirling to St. Mirren it kind of destroyed the challenge...this one offers enough flexibility to make it possible but there are still the steps you have to achieve in a specific order.
-----------------------------------------
3. The Sir Adolf Hitler Challenge
You start at (where else) Nuremburg. From here, you goal is to become
Champion of the Bundesliga in 4 years. After performing this, it's off to
Poland for a lighting fast stay. You want to move clubs anything after 30
days from joining your Polish club. After that, north to Norway. You goal
here is to win the Norwegian league, with as many German players as
possible.
Then comes the biggest challange - France. Take over a club in the French
National and win the French league. Ideally, the club would be coastal so as
to allow a good lauch pad for your next move - into England. At your English
club, you must finish second in the Premiership, but not win it. Ideally,
the team who finish above you must have as many Americans as possible.
After this, you can wind the challange up, or take the 43-45 period on...
Your next move is to Russia. Again, you must finish second in the league.
After that, slowly move back to Germany, going through countries with
borders (i.e. Russia - Poland - Germany). Here, take control of a Berlin
club and get them relegated. Shoot yourself in a bunker.

4.
The Gordon Dalziel Challenge
Run game to Christmas of first season.
Add manager to a team in the bottom three of Scottish Division Two
From here you have three seasons to get promotion (but for Dazza's 10 bonus points you must do it the following season)
Part II:
The First Division Years:
After promotion is achieved you must USE (that is play in competitive matches) over 50 players in your first season, and avoid relegation.
10 Dazza bonus points for using precisely 52.
In the following campaign you must challenge for the title (but not win it) with a team based on pace and flair, playing in a 4-2-4 formation (or 4-4-2 att) including one veteran striker who has played in the SPL.
10 Dazza bonus points for finishing third.
The next three seasons should follow similar patterns to each other - a poor start must be made in each case, being out of the title running by Christmas all three times. Use a 5-3-2 formation with wingbacks and an anchor midfielder with two more progressive players beside him. Cup success is the key here - earn 2 Dazza points for each Quarter final, 5 for each semi final and 10 for each final, 12 for lifting the trophy. Add two for each Premier legaue team eliminated. Note these points are not added for the Challenge Cup. You should always lose to lower division opponents if possible, and at all costs do not reach the final.
10 Dazza points for finishing 7th in the first of these three sessions, 10 more for 2nd the next season and 10 for third in the final season.
Part III
The future:
These seasons completed you must note your Dazza points as they will serve to decide who "wins" the challenge should more than one person complete it.
The following season play until the Christmas then quit, and move to a team not in the promotion hunt in the third highest division in another country, and repeat from the beginning, noting Dazza points.
Then repeat a third time.
Part IV:
At this stage you have a reputation for cup runs, but league mediocrity. You should be able to take a job in the top league of one of the three countries you have already managed in (you can take an intermediate club in the middle, providing you don't win them promotion past the second highest league) Take a job there, and complete the challenge by winning a European trophy in the same season as being relegated from that division.

5.
The Pride of the South Challenge

1: Start the game as manager of Dover, Margate, Woking, Farnborough, Exeter, Plymouth or Torquay.
2: Take the club as far as you feel you can.
3: Apply for a job at Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton or Portsmouth.
4: Win the FA Cup and the Premier Leauge in the same season with any of these clubs.
5: Once you have acheived this, move to any of the 8 clubs who you HAVE NOT managed yet.
6: Win either the FA Cup or the Worthington Cup with this club.
7: Apply for and accept a Job in the Southern Hemisphere - This is clubs in Brazil, Argentina or Australia.
8: Win the FIFA World Club Championship with this side.
9: Move back to your original club, and win one final trophy (Either the FA Cup, FA Trophy, Worthington Cup, LDV Vans Trophy or the FA Premier Leauge)
10: Fed up with club management, you move into the International arena. Apply for and take a job at one of the Nations in the Southern Hemisphere (Nigera, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Argentina or any other South American country available to manage).
11: Win the World Cup with this country
12: Retire as the saviour of the South.
---------------------------------------------------------------
6.
EU challenge
Step 1
Take over at any below premier league club in England or Scotland. For example Torquay
Take them to the championship of that division; if you go up in any other way, you must go up at the top of a new division before the premiership. For example if Torquay go up as 2nd in division 3 you must win division 2 or 1 If you reach the premiership without winning a league then you must resign and find a new club. Once you are in the premiership you have to qualify for Europe in any way possible. For example win the FA cup. You must then win the European Tournament, should you fail you must qualify again. Once this is done you must resign.
Step 2
Repeat this in the other country. For example if you have completed part of this as Torquay, then you may take over Raith Rovers.
If you are sacked in step 1 or 2 you must take over another club from a division below the top flight in the same country.
Step 3
With any club, in either country you must ensure that you have won any European trophy that hasn’t been won yet. For Example if as Torquay and Raith Rovers you won the UEFA cup you must win the Champions League.
Step 4
With Britain in control of club Europe its time for International Football. You must take control of any of the home Nations (England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland) and win the European Championships. In our Example you use England
Step 5
With another home nation other than who you have already used (For our example you can use Scotland, Wales or N Ireland) you must be the best European team at the World Cup. Winning isn’t necessary but you need to beat all other European nations there.
Step 6
With Britain firmly in control take Welsh and Northern Irish teams into the knockout stages of the Champions league.
Sacking in stages 3, 4, 5 and 6 means you must take a new club/country instead. Countries and clubs can be reused if required.
------------------------------------------------------------
7.
The Islands Challenge
1) Start with a team from an Island in Europe (off the mainland of home country) outside of the big 5 major European Leagues, Examples of these are Visby and Häcken in Sweden - I can dig up many more of these, I had them all somewhere once when I was 'devising', but I've lost them all and those were the only two I can find off the cuff. With this team you have to win a major national trophy and then you can choose to move onto Part Two or Part Three from here.
2) You can now move to an Island team in a major European League. Examples of these are Tenerife and Mallorca in Spain, Bastia and AC Ajaccio in France, Cagliari in Italy and um... Newport IOW and Canvey Island in England. Of course these aren't exactly jobs you're gonna get after winning a trophy in somewhere in Sweden, so you'll
prolly have to settle for something like Atletico Catania or something. Again I'll dig these up, I know there are plenty of them. Here you have to win the national championship - you can also skip this stage by staying with your original team and winning their national championship, if you haven't already! Winning a major European Championship with an Island team has only been achieved once by Cagliari
3) Now you have to win a European Trophy and become the first ever Island team to do so. Bastia made the final of the Cup Winners Cup once upon a time, but that's the nearest an Island team has ever got... so go forth and become a history maker.
4) Go to an Island nation (NOT England, however) and get to a Major Tournaments semi-final. Island Nations will be the Home Nations, Ireland, Japan and Australia
5) Finally return to an Island team on Mainland Europe and bring home the glittering prize of the Champions League
6) Buy a small carribean island and retire with a small fortune in the bank

The Uncle Scrooge Challenge
Your club has made a new policy due to the uncertainty in todays transfer market. Due to the huge losses most clubs have to suffer this club has vowed never to get in any financial troubles. To do this a number of restrictions has been laid down.
1) The club will only sign players on free transfers or Bosman transfers.
2) No player will be released on frees until their contract has expired.
3) Players brought in who are on contract with another club may only be signed as part as a player exchange. No money may be paid to the other club.
4) As injuries might strike the manager is allowed to make two signings per year though for whom money is paid. The combined fee for these two players may not exceed £8m though.
Note: Some young players may be on frees but requires a compensation to the mother club. These players may be signed IF the compensation is less than £2m AND a max of £8m may be spend this way in a season.
Managers may NOT start in the topflight. Any club below the top is acceptable though for maximum enjoyment one of the following is recommended:
England: Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday, Wimbledon.
Spain: Eibar, Ejido
Germany: Babelsberg, Sweinfurt
France: Nice, Cretéil, Martigues
Italy: Sampdoria, Napoli, Fiorentina, Messina
Clubs may not be switched. The goal is to become domestic champions AND win a European trophy, ie Ch. League or UEFA Cup. Show those big spenders how it is done.

Time To Say Goodbye/One More Try
The end of the line for CM3 is fast approaching. Over the past four years, we've played it to death, wrote about it till our fingers fell off, bored people with our triumphs and tragedies and spent far too little time on things as school, work, family and friends...
And we loved every minute of it.
Now, it's time to say goodbye, and how better than to finish by completing the job?
"What job?" You ask... Well, surely, SURELY there's something you once set out to achieve during CM3's reign which you never quite managed to? Taking Kidderminster to the Premiership instead of failing miserably in the First Division playoffs, winning Serie A with Monza, staying in your job at Telford, or simply sticking to a story past the opening friendly.
This is the most un-coordinated challenge ever, which is supposed to be the charm of it. Obviously, you need to set out your mission in the opening post, so that people know what you're after.
If you ever wanted to give that failed mission one final go, now is the time.
(
notes: I included this basically because it's a 'make your own challenge challenge, and some may find it interesting)

12.
The F1 challenge
This is a challenge that can combine your love of the Grand Prix circuit and CM4. You base yourself at a club as near as you can get to a circuit, and work your way up the footballing ladder.
So, how do you do this?
STAGE 1: Australia
Oz has, for the past few years at least, been the first race of the season, and so this is where you start. You take charge at either Melbourne Knights or South Melbourne of the NSL. This stage is complete once you make the grand final (it doesn’t matter if you lose it – getting there is what counts).
STAGE 2: North America
Normally the races in this part of the world are mid-season, but for our purposes they come next. Your second club for the challenge is either Indiana (USA) or Montreal (Canada), who both play in the American Second Division. To complete this stage you must make the play-off final AND the Open Cup quarterfinals.
STAGE 3: Europe
This is where things really heat up in the season. You can take over any eligible club (listed below), and have to take the club to either the UEFA Cup, or better still, the Champions League. Once this is done, you have finished the challenge.
Notes
* There are no further player restrictions imposed, other than those set by the individual FAs.
* If you are doing this challenge on CM3, you can leave out stage 2 (as you can’t play it!)
* You must remain at each challenge club for a minimum of 366 days – even if you have completed the other requirements. This will ensure that you will not have missed the Grand Prix.
* In between stages, you can manage whomsoever you like, but it might be an idea to take a club in the league that you’re planning on going to next.
Teams eligible for Stage 3
* Belgium: Spa
* France: Monaco
* Germany: Nürnberg
* Italy: Monza, San Marino
* Portugal: Estoril
* Spain: Barcelona, Jerez

13.
Bad Lads Army
You are a grafter, someone who always wants to win - and isn't afraid to (literally) step on a few toes in the process. Pick a team of your choice - any country, any division - and turn them into a hard working team with little consequence for the discaplinary problems this may bring. You should stay at this first club until you have won your current Division at the very least.
Full instructions.
1; Pick club
2; All players selected MUST have over 15 for the 'Agression' Stat. You must have at least 9 players with Agression of 15 or more at the start and the end of every match.
3; Win your current division.
It's then up to you - you can continue your philosophy elsewhere to one more club, or you can elect to have a change of heart...
Part 2; Operation Good Guys
After being visited - perhaps by the FA, perhaps by those 'Fair Play' campaigners you would usually eat for breakfast - or perhaps, in the seasonal spirit, by the Ghost of football past, you decide to change your ways.
Full Instructions;
1; Get new job (Again, Any Club/Any Division)
2; All players MUST have an 'Agression' stat of 5 or Below. You must have at least 9 players with an Agression Stat of 5 or Below at the start and finish of every match.
3; Win your current division
You then have a choice - you can keep spreading the 'sweetness and light' image that you have just established with a second club, or you can retire - happy that you have now 'redeemed' your previous past ways. Or you could always be tempted back to the 'Dark Side' and do it again...

Out of his shadow, and into his footsteps"
As a youngster you grew up in the shadow of your father, knowing that he was a man loved by the footballing world. His achievements were numerous, and impressive, and when you became a player - signing on for his team - there were those that said you were living off your surname.
Despite those nay-sayers you enjoyed a reasonable career, not that of a superstar but you did play in some big matches. Having realised that you were not destined for greatness on the pitch you decided to try your hand at management, still a relative youngster you learned your trade in the non-league world before getting your chance. Now it's time to step out of his shadow, and follow in his footsteps.
Brief:
OK, so no prizes for guessing the inspiration for this challenge!
You start your tale as the manager of a side in the lowest league of any multi-division nation; England, Scotland, Italy etc - for the challenge to work there must be at least three levels of competition, preferably more (note that in England I would suggest it is acceptable to consider the Conference as the bottom rung, rather than force people into Conference North/South). At the outset you must also nominate a team to be that which your father achieved greatness with and they must be at least one division below the top flight in your country at the time the game starts, you could choose a side that has fallen on even harder times (but they cannot be the team you start with) that choice is yours.
There are not many 'steps' to this challenge but you can claim success by achieving the overall goals in more ways than one. To consider the challenge complete you must secure:
At least one domestic league championship (top flight), and three Cup competitions (at least one of these must be 'continental' - so UEFA Cup, Champions League, or their equivalent).
The only restriction is this; you may only tick off each title when achieved with either your starting club, or the club at which your father achieved success.
You can move clubs as many times as you wish, there is no time restriction on the challenge, but to finish it you must achieve the total of 4 honours with either of the two clubs detailed at the start of your tale.
-----------------------------------------------------------
15.
Mountains
This challenge is based around five countries, those in the British Isles. The objective is to conquer the highest mountain in each of these countries. In FM terms, this means achieving something at the nearest geographical club(s). The challenge starts at the lowest mountain in Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland
Slieve Donard - 852m
The challenge begins in the smallest country in the British Isles. Slieve Donard is the highest point on the Morne Mountains, standing at 852m. To give the challenger slightly more choice as to who they manage, I have decided to make the boundary Belfast, which leaves the following teams.
For those wanting to be the most geographically accurate, Banbridge Town should be their desination. Slightly further afield, Lisburn Distillery is within travelling distance of the mountain. Belfast itself contains many teams, as listed below -
* Cliftonville, Glentoran, Linfield, Crusaders, Donegal Celtic, Dundela, Harland & Wolff Welders, Brantwood, PSNI, Queens University Belfast.
The Challenge - With this summit not hard to get to, your achievements will reflect this. A simple trophy (including league titles but not competitions like the English Charity shield, where only one round is played) win will be enough to take you onto the next stage.
England
Scafell Pike - 977m
Across the Irish Sea into England is Scafell Pike, your next destination. There are four playable FM teams nearby to this mountain which are as follows.
* Carlisle
* Workington Town
* Barrow
* Darlington
The Challenge - With this mountain slightly higher, a league title plus survival in the league above is needed to reach the summit.
Right then, I'm not sure whether or not to include Ireland next country/mountain as there is only one team really near it and that's still bloody miles away. I think one team is OK for Scotland as it's the last leg and it'll increase the challenge but for now I'll leave out Ireland, making it Britain rather than the British Isles.
Wales
Snowdon - 1085m
Snowdon has quite a few teams local to it and I've been told that Bangor City is the strongest. Also eligible are Caernarfonan (the nearest) and Porthmadog.
The Challenge - It's getting rather high now and to complete this leg you will need to not only win two trophies but also qualify for Europe.
Scotland
Ben Nevis - 1344m
The highest mountain in Britain is not one that is in close proximity to any Scottish league teams. For this reason, there are two options at this point.
The Long Club Road
Inverness Caledonian Thistle are by my estimations the nearest team to Ben Nevis but still a long way away. To cover this great distance you will need to achieve the unthinkable, and guide ICT to a European Trophy.
The Long International Road
Of course, Ben Nevis is in Scotland. If you can do enough to secure the Scottish national team job then you must emulate recent legends such as Berti Vogts and lead the team not only to the World Cup but also to the quarter final stage of the competition. If there is a European Championship before, the summit can only be reached by holding the trophy aloft.
------------------------------------------------------
16.
Last Waltz
You must take over an international side, which according to FM's in-game world rankings, are outside the top 150 in the world. Your aim is simple, to qualify for the World Cup within 10 years.
Only when you have taken your lucky nation to the world's greatest sporting event can you claim the challenge complete. You'll be pleased to find however, a selection of the globe's finest teams, ranging from Pakistan to the Bahamas.
Good luck, and make your country proud.
------------------------------------------
17.
Out of the Wilderness
This challenge is based in the world of international football. The challenge begins by taking a team that has not participated in any of the last 5 world cups. (1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, which is 'past' for challenge purposes.)
Stage 1:
Qualify for the World Cup in 2010 or later (on the basis that although World Cup 2006 is in the future when the game begins, it is 'past' for challenge purposes.)
Stage 2:
At this World Cup, or another in the future, advance to the knockout stages.
Stage 3:
Win the World Cup (I'm well aware this may be impossible).
Success in Continental competitions is great for story purposes, but carries no weight for challenge purposes.
You are entitled to take any club job offered to you, again this can be worked into your story, but has no bearing on the challenge.
You are entitled to move to another country if offered the job so long as that nation also fits the criteria.
The relevant World Cups are always 1990-2006, if Brazil fail to qualify from 2010-2026 it does not make them eligible. (Unless I'm overwhelmed by popular opinion feeling it should.)
