1st October: Premiership so Far;

1st - Chelsea - 15pts (7)
2nd - Newcastle Utd - 14pts (7)
3rd - Arsenal - 13pts (7)

Relegation:
18th - Birmingham - 6pts (7)
19th - Blackburn - 1pt (7)
20th - Middlesbrough - 1pt (7)

3rd October: Iceland (71) v England (3): World Cup Qualifier

Starting Line Up: Same apart from Crouch replacing injured Owen, Richardson takes Crouch's place on bench

We started well against Iceland on a very poor pitch and on the 10th minute we opened the scoring as Crouch latched onto a long ball and volleyed it brilliantly into the net, Three minutes later we had doubled our lead as Defoe headed in, on the 21st minute it got worse for Iceland as they were reduced to ten men after a second yellow card. We punished them six minutes later as Defoe added another to our tally, a minute later the same player completed his hat trick. On the 42nd minute we added yet another goal this time it was Gary Neville getting on the score sheet. At half time I told the players I wanted more of the same and show the rest of the world what we are capable of.
Six minutes into the second half Crouch doubled his tally with a header from a Lennon cross. On the 58th minute I brought on Chopra and Walcott for Defoe and Wright-Phillips. We kept on the pressure but couldn't add any further goals to our impressive tally, even when Iceland were reduced to nine men after Cole was booted

Iceland 0 - 6 England (Crouch 10, 51, Defoe 13, 27, 28, G.Neville 42)

7th October; Ukraine (45) v England (3) World Cup Qualifier

Strarting Line Up;Same as previous match

I told the players I wanted a win to give us a 100% qualifying record, Unfortunatly the game didn't start very well for us as on the 15th minute we had to replace Defoe with Walcott after Defoe had picked up an injury.
However on the 24th minute we were all smiles again after Lennon fired in our first goal to calm our nerves. But my players we caught napping as two minutes later Ukraine fired in the equaliser. At half time I told the players to give it one more big push and lets win this damn game.
The team talk worked as my players came out firing on all cylinders, on the 57th minute we retook the lead as Carrick fired in from 12 yards. We continued to press forward but nothing was coming until the 85th minute when a Lennon cross was diverted into the Ukraine goal by there own player.

Ukraine 1 - 3 England (Lennon 24, Carrick 57, OG 85)

I got my 100% record in qualification but I was far from happy with my players recent performances and I was worried for us in the World Cup

Qualifying Record and Table:

3/9: Kazakhstan - A - 2-0 (Reo-Coker, Walcott)
4/10: Iceland - H - 4-0 (Lennon, Defoe, Walcott, Lampard)
8/10: Poland - A - 3-2 (OG, Walcott 2)
21/3: San Marino - H - 4-0 (Owen 3, Walcott)
30/5: Ukraine - H - 5-1 (Defoe, Owen 2, J.Cole, Gerrard)
3/6: Kazakhstan - H - 2-0 (Carragher, Walcott)
29/8: Poland - H - 3-1 (Carrick 2, Defoe)
2/9: San Marino - A - 2-0 (Defoe, Walcott)
3/10: Iceland - A - 6-0 (Crouch 2, Defoe 3, G.Neville)
7/10: Ukraine - A - 3-1 (Lennon, Carrick, OG)

Table:

1st - England - 30pts Qualified
2nd - Ukraine - 19pts Play-Offs
3rd - Poland - 19pts
4th - Iceland - 10pts
5th - Kazakhstan - 7pts

3rd February: England (3) v Cape Verde Islands (165); Friendly

Starting Line Up: GK - B.Foster, RB - M.Richards, LB - J.Carragher, CB - L.King, CB - W.Brown, MR - C.Eagles, ML - S.Downing, MC - T.Walcott, MC - J.Barton, FC - M.Chopra, FC - M.Owen (capt)

Subs: C.Kirkland, G.Neville, N.Reo-Coker, J.Pennant, S.Wright-Philips, J.Defoe, P.Crouch, A.Lennon, J.Cole

We started brilliantly as after only four minutes we went a goal up as Chopra fired in, you could sense the fans were wanting a rout and too be truthful so did I. On the 10th minute we came close again as Walcott headed just wide, then Owen came close but failed to connect with the ball right. On the 31st minute we doubled our lead as Chopra again scored, Chopra's day got even better as on the 35th minute he completed his hat trick. Deep into injury time we managed to make it 4-0 as Verde managed to put the ball in there own net.
At half time I brought on G.Neville, J.Defoe, J.Pennant and N.Reo-Coker for J.Carragher, M.Owen, S.Downing and J.Barton. Gary Neville took the captains armband.
Despite some of the big names coming on we failed to impress and failed to score, However on the 89th minute Verde managed to score with a brilliant free kick

England 4 - 1 Cape Verde Islands (Chopra 4, 31, 35, OG 45)

The press said the game was a waste of time but it showed me if my players were up to playing the lower teams aswell as the better teams.

17th February: Were still third in the World Rankings with Brazil still top

21st February: This seasons League Cup has been won by Newcastle United with a 1-0 win over Arsenal

Subs: P.Robinson, B.Jones, J.Terry, A.Cole, N.Shorey, K.Nolan, D.Sturridge, G.Agbonlaher, N.Reo-Coker

After only seven minutes we went a goal down as Cameroon went through my defence like a hot knife through butter. I wasn't best pelased with how they coped. Cameroon came at us again and started to dominate the game, On the half hour we nearly went a further goal behind as my team let Cameroon build up a great move from there own area, luckily Kirkalnd was there to block the shot.
At half time I told my players I wanted much more from them and they needed to improve. I brought on captian J.Terry, G.Agbonlahor and N.Shorey for M.Dawson, L.Lita and J.Pennant.
Unfortunatly the substituions did little too inspire us and we played just as bad. On the 74th minute we were again punished for some poor play as Cameroon scored a second goal.
At full time I told the players they were very poor and if they play like this in the World Cup they can kiss goodbye to any chance of winning it

England 0 - 2 Cameroon

6 defenders seems a bit short. You sure it'll be okay?
