so if they wanted to really challenge themselves, people could spiral down towards the other pole?

I really like the 'pole to pole' idea! Its more of a quest though, visiting the nations per se. I think its pretty decent, and has the potential to try different (and whichever we want) leagues.

Yeah and depends on version and how many leagues you can run. I've said you have to win at least one domestic title, but depending how you plan your route you might need more than that for reputation.

And yeah capri, its an open ended challenge really, which should make it easier to manouvre.

And of course once you've reached the opposite pole from where you started, you could always work your way back

Yup..and maybe (if time permits, which it won't), try and end up at the same club you started from. Bring them back the glory, if they have lost it!

(btw, just wondering, switching clubs: Do you have to do that by adding a new manager or waiting to land a job?)

aha...got it! I guess landing a new job would make it slightly more difficult. But fun nevertheless.

tbh, I like this (possible) challenge since it gives you a free hand in order to experiment with numerous leagues. Oh well. So are we waiting for more ideas? :p

Yeah I'll give it a couple more days then decide what to do.

Ross can you decide which challenge you want to enter and what version, no offense but the Scolari one is probably a bit weak and if we don't get anything else in I'm tempted to go with just Bobs and mine, plus the Walter Smith one if you're happy to make it a bit more flexible?

sure thing. the scolari one is a little weak, but you could make it difficult if you worked your way from the depths of the llower divisions up.

I'm more than willing to have the Walter one flexified, but Yours is really, really good, apart from maybe the sheer enormous scale of the thing I did have another idea, and I have to thank you for it, because yours was the inspiration for it.

Cross-Continental challenge.

Win a trophy from each country in one continent, then take a lower ranked country from that continent to the world cup final.

for example, in europe, you'd go through scandinavia, into the british isles, win a trophy from each country there then head to portugal, then spain. into france, then belgium, Holland and Germany, into austria, then italy, into greece, poland, russia, and then finally, stop in finland, then take your EU country national team seat.

If you're really suave, you'll be able to win a cup in one country then flit to another. but, if you take it at 1 country a year, it'd take...22 seasons, but that's without flitting from team to team mid-way through a season, also, remember that the scandinavian leagues run at different points....

It's a gargantuan challenge, but it's not impossible, but it is perhaps a little too much

if that's feasible, I'd submit it as an idea, I'm not going to pretendi have the ability to pull that off though, but it's a twist on yours
