Barry (Devon): How do you rate Ajax new signing Iversen?

Tommy: (3:53PM ET ) I would say it on the money, Iversen a proven forward who adds experience to the squad. Quality player.

Micheal (Genk): Tom De Mul progress under Kent?

Tommy: (4:05 PM ET ) Already capped De Mul looks more likely to go out on loan rather than a permant deal. I think he is one player Kent will look at in the latter stages of the season..

Stan ( Adelaide SA ): How will Ajax progress in the Champions League?

Tommy: (4:18 PM ET ) Well given a good draw in the group stages, they are a good chance to make the quarter Finals? From there any team is a chance, but I Fancy Milan to take the Cup this season, Ajax meet Spanish Side Osasuna, who had a great season in the Li Liga last year.

Transfer Update
August 9th 2006

Amsterdam, August 9TH (Reuters)- Man City have completed the signing of Ajax's twenty-fice year old Argentinian winger Mauro Rosales for a fee reported to be near $3,000,000. The Argentina International, who platyed for Argentinian Premier Division side Newell's before joining Ajax, has said that he is looking forward to this new chapter in his career.

Earlier, Ajax let Olaf Lindenbergh leave to London club Fulham for $1,000,000 fee despite expressing a sesire to stay at Amsterdam ArenA and fright for a fisrt team spot. Ajax manager Brett Kent wished both players best of luck on there new venture's and thanked them for the service to Ajax.

Ajax suffer Sneijder blow
August 11th 2006

Ajax midfielder left the pitch only 2 minutes in the Champions Cup qualifier afyer a nasty challenge which lead the Sneijder feeling the full force of the tackle. Brett Kent looked on inc concerned for his midefield star, who pulled out of a deal real madrid earlier in the season.

Kent admitted that sniejder's absent was a cause for concern, with the player likely to be missing for 8 weeks. With the trsnfer still open for another 3 weeks, the Ajax manager has not ruled out adding a replacement for Sneijder, with a added funds to his transfer kitty of recent sales of Rosales and Lindenberg.

Ajax scrape through to the group stages for the Champions league a first leg win 4-1 set up the win, as Ajax were flat in the extreme 36* degree heat of Spain. Osasuna's 3 first half goals enable the home side to close the gap, with only Ajax Huntelaar offering any resistence with his first half reply on the 30min mark. However Osuana was uanble to find an equaliser, which let Ajax off the hook to progress to the group stages.

Ajax will be looking to improve when the return to the Eredivisie to face Sparta away. Kent will look to new $4,500,000 signing of former Ajax player Andy van der Meyde who has spent the last 4 years aboard with 2 years at Inter and the last 2 at Everton. With Rosales departed and Spanish midfielder Gabri still yet to cement a first team spot, Van De Meyde is looking to add competition down the right for Kent's side.

Dutch transfer window roundup
1st September 2006

Amsterdam, 1st September (ESPN)- One of teh busiest Dutch tranfer windows in recent times saw AFC Ajax delight their fans with arguably the twow biggest signings of the window.

In addition to signing centre-back Vedran Corluka from Dinamo for $1,850,000, Ajax also tied up a $4,500,000 deal for Evertons flamboyant winger Andy van der Meyde.

Meanwhile, NAC Breda were the most active team during the window, strengthening theor squad with no less than five players.
