The 55 year old who turns 56 year next year said in a press conference "It's a very emotional return to a club I truly love"
Following this appointment, American Owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks unveiled former Liverpool FC striker, Michael Owen as a new signing in a press conference. The hitman is believed to be signed in a £12.8 million deal

King Kenny's first Premier League match after his return to management. He first eleven are as followed.Liverpool won the match 4-1. In the post match conference, King Kenny hailed Luis Garcia as the key player of the match. He said "Luis showed great vision by creating both Kuyt and Owen's goal. I am happy to have a player like him in my team"
