I though you were asking about glasses.

30 odd leagues, add on players from any big country that I didnt run the league in, and its pretty sharp.

Dual core AMD 3600 processor, gig of RAM.

PS. You may know this, you may not, but make sure to buy your computer from someone who builds it for you, not a readymade one - like PC World.

You'll get better value for money and you can pick parts for your computer to enhance gaming performance.

I play FM 2008 on a laptop.

1 - Intel Core 2 Duo 1.66Ghz
RAM 2048 MB DDR2
Windows Vista OS
Geforce Go 7300

2 - I am running 26 nations and 71 leagues.

3 - No additional nations loaded.

4 - I am 6 seasons into my game (with 8.01) and the game speed is good and responsive with not too much loading time.

Keep in mind that a graphics card is irrelevant in how fast you run FM.

Any quad core CPU and 2gb of RAM will run it nicely. 4gb if you are running Vista.

On ebay you can get motherboard + quad core + 4gb packages for a few hundred quid.

But you will need to 64bit version of vista to take advantage of 4 gb ram.....4gb is pointless on 32bit vista.

Indeed, but who is going to spend hundreds upgrading and not get 64bit? Anyone that daft would just go and buy a computer from PCrap world.
